Willie Cauley-Stein has legally changed his name

Recommended Posts

I don't know if he is his exact brother, i remember reading an article and Willie referred to Will Shields as his dad.

Willie just recently changed his name from Willie Durmond Cauley Jr to Willie Trill Cauley-Stein

Former University of Kentucky basketball star Willie Cauley-Stein's hyphenated last name is official now, as is a change in his middle name.

Cauley-Stein, 21, was born Willie Durmond Cauley Jr. He filed a name-change order Friday with the Probate Division of the Fayette District Court to legally change his name to Willie Trill Cauley-Stein.

"I want to include my mother's last name," was Cauley-Stein's reason for the change, according to the court document.

Cauley-Stein's mother, Marlene Stein, said her son decided to change his middle name since he was already there to change his last name.

Trill is the "nickname his 'boys' call him," Marlene Stein said.

Changed the title because it was completely confusing

In addition, Willie holds the distinction of being the tallest person ever born in Spearville, Kansas. And I am pretty safe in guessing that I am the only member of the HHC family to have ever visited that burg. And in another example of the synchronicity which we all experience as we go through life, Willie shares my birth date ( although he is a few years younger). Here's wishing him a long and successful NBA career.

How tall was he when he was born?
