Minnesota Info

Head Coach: Richard Pitnio
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Conference: B1G 10
Nickname: Golden Gophers
Mascot: Goldy Gopher
Last time out: Beat Rutgers
Typical Rotation Depth: 8-9 players
Opening Line: Pick'em
Fun Fact : Minnesota started 0-5 in the conference before knocking off Rutgers
Fun Fact : Senior Elliott Eliason hails from Chadron, NE
Fun Fact : Richard Pitino and Rick Pitino faced off for the first time with the elder Pitino's Louisville team winning easily

Player to watch: Andre Hollins

The 6'2" Senior shooting guard is the leading scorer and 3pt shooter on a fairly balanced Gopher attack. After slumping from behind the arc for most of conference play Hollins exploded for 31 points including 7-10 from 3pt range against Rutgers.

The Skinny

Minnesota's promising start has been derailed during conference play mostly due to their poor defensive play. The Gophers are still turning people over with their pressure defense but have been extremely soft in the paint, especially defending the boards. The offense has been serviceable and lead the way to their only conference win by overpowering Rutgers.

Aside from the Bo Ryan Experience, the Huskers have been great defensively and look to get help from their old friend the FT line in this game. Due to matchups and lack of aggression the Huskers went from being a FT shooting team to one of the worst in conference. A hacking Gopher defense should be just what the doctor ordered.

This should be a fun, fast paced game but one where the Huskers have enough D and enough size to handle the outside shooting of the Gophers.
Prediction: Nebraska 69 - Minnesota 64
