A Closer Look at the Season-Long Box Score

Recommended Posts

I looked at the box scores of our games against top 200 KenPom opponents and split the first half and second half into halves (so 4 quarters in all, essentially). Here's what I found:

  • During the first ten minutes of the first half, we are outscoring opponents by 14 points (130-116).

  • But during the last ten minutes of the first half, opponents are outscoring Nebraska by 16 points (128-144).

  • During the first ten minutes of the second half, we are outscoring opponents by 14 points (144-130).

  • But during the last ten minutes of the second half, opponents are outscoring Nebraska by 29 points (146-175).

It really comes down to a lack of depth. We get tired. Halftime gives us a breather and we tend to come out strong in the second half, but completely die towards the end.

Could also mean that other teams be making better adjustments as game progresses

You are a piece of work. Good luck with DePaul tonight.

The guy is a terrible troll.  Sad life he lives.  As if he didn't think anyone would notice once NU starting bringing in top recruits he vanished.  It will be no different once NU starts seeing some positives again.  He will be gone like a fart in the wind.
