I just read that he cleared 6'8" in the high jump recently. It should be fun to watch this kid!

I really like how it says headed to Nebraska in just about every article on him. This is two fold becuase it gets our name out there that another big time player wants to come here. And it also kind of tells other school that he is ours and to back off some.

From that same article, I was wondering why it seems like we never even took a flier on this kid? It's not like 2016 is a class loaded with other talented options. I understand that he is not a PG and he is not a big (although he has grown to 6'8"), but by all account he is a talent.

After seeing him in person, he is not a Big caliber player. Decent handles for his size but he is not very active and does not put a stamp on the game as often as he should. He is an extremely poor man's DJ Williams imo

Looks like Roby is playing with the Spiece Heat this weekend. They are an incredibly talented AAU team. Recently they have featured Trey Lyles, James Blackmon, Caleb Swanigan, among many others. I'm curious to see how he does against a bump in competition.

So he didn't play in the first game. Had 4 pts and 4 reb in 15 minutes in game two and 2 pts and 4 reb in 16 minutes in game three. Tough to really gauge much since he was a "rent a player" for the weekend and doesn't have any rapport with that team.

Great find.  Great interview.  Great kid.

 

I'm going out on a limb but I'll call it now:  This kid will be one of the best recruits/players we've had in the last 20 years.  I think his ceiling is extremely high.  Extremely high.

 

With the trajectory he's on with his size and skill, he could be a lottery pick a few years down the road.

 

(Of course, a lot has to happen for that to occur, but he has the potential.)

He's 6'8" as a HS junior.  No hair on his legs or face.  Probably still growing.  He has the skills of a wing.  Nice touch on his shot.  Agility for a guy that size is ++.  Some guys that size are still a little awkward/clumsy at that age (or older -- think Toney McCray.)  Isaiah is fluid.  He's fluid, he's smooth, he has a nice build even at his height and weight.  He'll be able to add to that frame.  Plus, he has the ability to put it on the floor and drive or shoot from the perimeter.  He has a lot of tools and a lot of upside.  And he seems to have the kind of demeanor that won't be a liability come draft day (see Petteway, Terran.)

Okay real question. How old are the kids who go to the camps at UNL any way? In the old days there wasn't any AAU over kill like now so high school guys went to camps to be seen. Do they still do that? and if they do wouldn't Roby be coming in soon?

I know that guys still come in for football and that is how they get the young guys, but haven't heard about that in basketball.
