Huskerpapa Posted April 30, 2016 Report Posted April 30, 2016 ...and he can jump The high jump trio of Isaiah Roby, Kyle LeBlanc and Nate Gascoigne combined to clear 18-2. Roby tied for the best individual leap at 6-4, a season best by 4 inches. Roby is still rounding into shape after a taxing basketball season. He used a 5-step approach for most of the night, rather than his customary 10-stepper. “Coach wants me to do 10-step approaches, but my quads are kind of tight and it hurts to run,” Roby said. “I was having all of my speed at the beginning of the approach and then dying at the end, which is the opposite of what you want. That’s why I did the 5-step tonight.” Quote
busticket Posted May 9, 2016 Report Posted May 9, 2016 Too bad we couldn't land Barret Benson. Looks like he is the only true 5 in that game. Quote

Norm Peterson Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 The World Herald changed their stories yesterday and went from listing him at 270# to listing him at 240#, which was more in line with what I had thought, based on his weight loss and body transformation. Quote

So we are just believing the world herald now? I've seen listed weights of 235, 240, 245, 260, and 270 in various places throughout the recruiting process. The official roster on huskers.com lists 6-11 and 270. Do you think we weighed him before they slapped a weight on there? Is there any advantage to listing him at 270 if he's only 240? I know heights are sometimes fudged but it doesn't really matter at this point because the training staff will probably be redistributing his weight anyway. AuroranHusker 1 Quote

Oh, I had thought the 6'11 240 was for Hammond. The post was dated Nov. 12, 2015. Kind of confusing, Normy. Quote

No, I'm just saying the OWH started out calling him 270# yesterday and then I did some checking around and found other places listing him much lighter after his major weight loss. So, when I went back to check the OWH, they had changed the story to show 240# instead of 270#. They edited the story to reflect a lighter weight. I'm not sure why they did so, but they did. For whatever reason. And 240# seems more consistent with what he looks like and what I've understood otherwise, so it made sense to me. Quote

I was saying I think Jordy is actually more like 240# and not 270#. I realize the UNL website lists him at 270# but I don't think he's really that heavy. Like I said above, yesterday the OWH had him at 270# in their stories on him but then, at some point, they changed it to 240#. I don't know why they changed it. They must have done so because they believed the lower number was more accurate. From what I've seen, I would tend to agree that the lower number is probably more accurate. Quote

Normy edited the post from last Nov. I didn't realize that 'til today. I thought you were showing Jake's height/weight. I mentioned to change Jacob to Jordy's (whatever his weight may be, that is immaterial in my discussion) Quote
