The "Cold Water Challenge" was started last week by Arizona where they issued opposing coaches and players to get dunked by a jug of ice water or dig into their wallets in efforts to support the Kay Yow cancer fund. They encourage all to video tape the dousing and post it on you tube as proof.  This has spread across the country like wild fire and now has reached outside of the women's basketball realm and has filtered into anyone associated with women's basketball. Yes, it has reached Nebraska as Coach Shimmy has been called out as has NU softball coach Rhonda Revelle. Not sure yet if any other like Coach Yori or Stephens or any players have been called out, and it wouldn't surprise me if more were. They are filming tomorrow.

The following video is the video posted by California in which Coach Shimmy got called out. It also sort of explains the procedures on how to answer the challenge. The Huskers video is supposedly to come out Monday sometime. I'm sure it will be posted soon after filming!

It's a fun challenge for a great cause and has gone beyond the women's college basketball community to include challenges to members of college softball community, sports media folks,  members of WNBA, members of NBA, and members of entertainmnt community such as Drake, Beyonce, and even Paul McCartney.  Even challenges to various mascots (issued by Seattle Storm mascot Doppler) and to the FLOTUS.

In the B1G, Bobbie Kelsey (Wisky) put together a fun video as did Curt Miller at IU.  Kevin Mcgruff and Asst. Joy Cheek at OSU answered and issued challenges as did assitant coaches at Michigan and Minnesota.
