Rest Easy.  Some of you are like middle school girls freaking out when their "boyfriend" was talking to on of their "hated" friends in the lunch line.

Tim Brando was Patient X.  He wrote a little blurb that Tennessee should give Miles a call which turned into a talking point.

Almost all of us have been following college basketball before we beat Michigan State so we know what's up.  However, it's turned into another "What scenario would Tim Miles leave for" thread.

Please do not say I just started following basketball/Nebraska after we beat Michigan State.  Season ticket holder since day one and even at the Devaney while in college, and I played college basketball.  I'm not far out of college either, so I'm hoping your statement was a generalized one because you my friend are completely wrong in the assumption that I just started following college basketball/Nebraska after beating Michigan State..

If Tim Brando says that a Yeti should be considered for 5 position need, some will start stressing out about how hard it will be to find shoes that will fit. We sure waste a lot of time on the internet pondering nonexistant problems.

That's what the internet is for....well, that and porn.

Pretty sure that's what Al Gore had in mind when he invented it, too.

(That was for you, tpc  :P )

I was referring to people who don't visit this forum. People who used to say "We have a basketball team?" sarcastically.

And, so, the next Tennessee rumor is another new B1G coach:  Richard Pitino.

That one makes much more sense.  Louisville to Knoxville is like a 4 hour drive but it's within the same basic geographic region.

And I think Richard proved himself enough at Minnesota for Tennessee to take a chance on him.  I doubt the B1G was his dream conference when he took the Minnesota position.

Chill and quit overreacting.  We often speculate about hypothetical stuff around here, especially in the off-season.  And this one wasn't so hypothetical considering the link you posted clearly indicates Tennessee made an inquiry before being rebuffed.  So, it wasn't so far-fetched of a scenario.

Now a Minnesota opening would really create a stir!

Okay Norm, thanks for the advice.  Much appreciated.  Yes, I am being facetious with that comment.

Well I'm glad Pitino isn't interested in Tennessee but I think Tennessee fans have a little bit of an inflated view of their place in the world of college hoops if they'd look down the end of their nose at a guy like Pitino who actually did a pretty decent job coaching the Gophers this year.  I think Tennessee is facing a post-Solich coaching search.  Who wants to go coach in Knoxville when the fans just ran out of a town a guy who made the Sweet 16?

They might have to drop back to the level they were at when Allan Houston's dad coached there so that they'll appreciate what they had in Cuonzo Martin.

Keep in mind... even some people on this board threw out names like Roy Williams for NU head coach a few years back. Unfortunately, those few individuals were serious.
