What would this guy bring?  Not to be a downer on this visit...but he wasn't even getting minutes on an NIT GTown team this year.  With that said, I guess Petteway was only scoring 3.3 points per game at TT.  The difference though is that Moses has been at GTown for 3 years.

He will bring a physical presence in the paint, which is something that Nebraska has been lacking. Nebraska has scorers (Shields, Petteway, Pitchford, and likely Fuller). Nebraska doesn't need him to be a scorer. They need him to be a rim protector, rebounder, and a post presence...

Absolute worst case scenario is that he takes the place of Vucetic and contributes very little at all...but even in that scenario, the scholarship opens up for the 2015 class...

In a move that was widely speculated but now apparently confirmed, Georgetown center Moses Ayegba will be transferring from the school for his 5th year of eligibility.

6-9 F Moses Ayegba is leaving Georgetown and has one year left after an injury earlier in career, his mentor tells @SNYtv

Moses averaged 1.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and .7 blocks in just over 13 minutes per game this season.  His departure leaves the Hoyas thin up front next season, with Josh Smith and Bradley Hayes as the only centers and Mikael Hopkins at power forward.

Though Moses was often a frustrating player for the Hoyas who found himself in foul trouble in most games he appeared in, I'll always remember him fondly for one play: the block against Syracuse last season memorialized in the GIF below:

Without flashy numbers would you call this "an odd piece to the puzzle"?

IDK...it's sort of tough to call a senior transfer from a school where one of your coaches was an assistant "odd"

We need another big man to play minutes off the bench.  I would take him for sure.  Looks capable of rebounding and playing strong defense.  Best case he blossoms and could possibly start.

I'd expect 15 mins off the bench though.

Mega-Moses thread

I believe the two knee surgeries have taken a toll on Moses mobility. I am reminded of Ralph Dalton who had a promising career at Georgetown until the knee injury. He became a decent backup for Patrick but never could get the lift or lateral movement from that knee. I remember seeing him struggle to grasp low bouncing balls on loose balls because he had to bend from waist instead of the knees. That is what I see Moses doing now. Any loose ball below the waist will probably not be controlled by him unless he dives to the floor for it. He can't power up from standstill rebound to dunk on an opposing player because of lack of lift. He does not wear the brace like Dalton because of modern surgery techniques, but two surgeries to same knee evidently has brought about the same limitations. Dalton too, was prone to a lot of fouls during the game because of his lack of lateral movement due to the knee. Moses tries but he can't get to the spot in order to prevent an offensive player from getting position on him so he invariably grabs his man or gets caught trying to push him off the spot the offensive man has gotten. I feel for the young man really, but I too, do not see him returning next year. JT2 is not one prone to hyperbole. So when he said this young man, before the injuries had the potential to be one of the best shot blockers and rebounders at Georgetown, I believe the young man could have accomplished that if not for the injuries to his knee. He is still serviceable this year, as Dalton was for JT2 because of his height and strength. He will be needed against the teams in the BE tournament that have athletic bigs and also in the NCAA if the Hoyas stay mentally focused and strong enough to get there.
