Any players we should be watching?  Benson looks like they have a couple of players.

 

Wasn't there a 9th grader from Norfolk, a big, who was supposed to be pretty good?

Just took a closer look at Norfolk.  They are in the semis.  Yesterday, they had three players in double figures scoring:  A 6'8" junior; a 6'5" freshman and a 6'2" freshman.  Wow.  Look for Norfolk to be pretty good next year.  That 6'5" freshman who scored 20 points is probably still growing.

Central gets blown out in Round 1, so no more watching of Thurman or others.

Khyri Thomas from Benson was impressive.  Got in foul trouble, but was almost unstoppable when he was in there.  He's definitely D-I material IMO.

 

The freshman from Norfolk will be a good one. Don't know if he'll be a D-I recruit unless he grows 4-5 more inches.  Has a nice spin move in the post.  Missed a lot of free throws though. 

 

Nobody else stood out to me at all.

I've heard the junior from Norfolk, Hagedorn, has heard from some coaches, too. I thought he looked pretty good yesterday. Had a little Wes Wilkinson in him. Struggled from the line a bit. will need to get quite a big stronger, obviously. The big frosh, Strom, is a bit of a puppy, but he's got all the tools, finished in some serious traffic at times. He's going to be a beast over the next three seasons. Coach Reis has a bit of a program there. He's figured something out and has turned out some pretty good players from that relatively small community. They knew exactly what they wanted to do. Ran out of gas last night after playing three overtimes the night before.

Watched a lot of the D2 tournament this past weekend.  Saw a couple kids that struck me as kids that will play some college ball at smaller schools at the next level.
