Nebraska led most of this low scoring, ugly game but could never put it away. Penn St went on a small run and the Huskers couldn't answer. There were 4 Natty Lions in double digits led by DJ Newbill's 16. That game was the first B1G victory for Penn St and was part of a 3 game winning streak that included a win over Ohio St. The loss also started a run for the Huskers which has seen them go 5-1 since. The Skinny Nebraska has tweaked their lineup to include David Rivers in place of Ray Gallegos. This lineup brings a lot of size to the table as Tai Webster is your shortest player at 6'4". It's also gives you 3 players on the bench in Parker, Gallegos, and Smith that specialize in defense, shooting, and inside play, respectively, that you can inject as needed. Both Penn St and Nebraska are middling 3 pt shooting teams so both will concentrate on packing the paint to minimize penetration. Both teams also will bail on offensive rebounds in order to slow down transition points...which was how Penn St won in Happy Valley. Tim Frazier and DJ Newbill are the main catalysts for the Nittany Lions...expect to see plenty of Benny Parker on Fraizer as the senior point guard is the key to getting the rest of the team easy shots. For all you Husker historians who talk about the inevitable shoe dropping, this very well could be a let down game against a hard nosed Penn St team that is rarely intimidated. However, if you look back through Tim Miles' short tenure at Nebraska you'll notice that he rarely loses to a team he supposed to beat at home. Vegas likes us tonight and so should you. Prediction: Nebraska 74 - Penn St 64 with a 78% chance of Runzas Click here to view the article pvhusker and atskooc

49r
Should Penn State be playing Geno Thorpe more often? - BT Powerhouse  http://www.btpowerhouse.com/2014/2/20/5425658/penn-state-basketball-be-playing-geno-thorpe-more-often-graham-woodward-john-johnson-pat-chambers  "Penn State will look across the court on Thursday and see a team that is in a position that the Lions imagined for themselves a few months ago. Just like Penn State, Nebraska was not expected to be a serious threat when conference play began on New Year's Eve. Just like Penn State, Nebraska is getting some great performances from a star transfer player that have lifted the team out of the conference cellar.  So why is Pat Chambers's team stuck shooting for the NIT with a 4-9 Big Ten mark while Tim Miles and Nebraska are in the midst of NCAA Tournament contention at 6-6?" 49r
Penn State at Nebraska Preview: Can Nittany Lions Slow Down Surging Huskers? - Black Shoe Diaries  http://www.blackshoediaries.com/2014/2/20/5428180/penn-state-at-nebraska-basketball-preview-allen-roberts-terran-petteway-tim-frazier  "Before the season began, hell, before conference play began, most Penn State fans would've viewed this game as a possible win, if not a probable one. But after Nebrasketball's upset of Michigan State in East Lansing, you'd be hard pressed to find a team that wouldn't consider themselves fortunate to get a win in Lincoln. The Huskers have lost just once at home this season, and that lone defeat was a nail-biter against a Michigan squad that was red hot at the time. Tim Miles will have his team firmly on the bubble if they can finish with a winning conference record, and taming the Nittany Lions would keep their momentum going." doc1394
I was just going to say, how awesome it was that an idea from this board is translating into hopefully a tradition moving forward that all 15,000 fans can embrace. Lots of drive and passion behind this board, so this board can really make a difference in the game day atmosphere and creating new traditions for an upstart basketball program. Hopefully Husker Power catches on tonight, I know I'll be yelling it. Â Thursday classes are over, lets get rolling! Go Big Red! hhcmatt
anyway we can print this chart off, and disperse it around the arena. Â If someone wanted to do that, I could make a printable sheet. Â The point in making the grahpic was more to illustrate the movement and to get some notice out there that people wouldn't see by just reading text. Â It's up to the student section and the rest of us to start it and the rest of the crowd should follow. bobcat402

The same applies for the Huskers tonight. Will they rise to the occasion and handle the nerves and expectations? Or will it just be another case of history repeating?"
