RPI: 51 Previous RPI: 52

Notes:

-Only one game on the docket for today, but it does not lack substance. Providence looks to keep their at-large hopes alive in a road matchup at Seton Hall.

-Seton Hall goes for the season-series sweep, as they edged out the Friars early in the conference season.

Saturday 3/1

RPI: 51 Previous RPI: 51

Notes:

-Previous non-con foes UMass, Creighton, and Georgia all face bubble teams, giving us three cracks at double whammies.

-Bubble teams who probably cannot afford a loss today include Dayton, Tennessee, Missouri, Richmond, LSU, Arkansas, Green Bay, BYU, and Oregon.

-A Baylor home loss vs Texas Tech would make things very interesting. They close out the regular season vs ISU and at KState.

-Colorado, Pittsburgh, St. Joseph's, SMU, VCU, and Xavier could all but seal up a bid with a win.

-Dayton, LSU, Xavier, VCU, Minnesota, Cal, and Oklahoma St. are the teams who have an opportunity to add a quality win to their resumé.

Not to nitpick, but Creighton lost. Let's not give them any more credit than they already get. (I changed it for you too :) )

Not a good day for us, Oklahoma State and Xavier all but clinched bids today. They both came in as 11 seeds on BracketMatrix.

Oregon, Baylor, California, BYU, Minnesota, Arkansas, Missouri are the "IN" teams we are legitimately chasing right now.

Providence, Tennessee, Florida State, St. John's, Dayton, Georgetown all right there with us too.

4 SEC teams should not be in the tournament, but whatever. 4 teams in that league have losing overall records (1 B1G team does).

In the three conference games today....

I think that it helps if the teams we played twice win...helping our RPI ever so slightly....but we are very close, so every bit counts.

Penn state beating Wisconsin

Purdue beating Iowa

No preference in Indiana and Ohio state game.

The teams we play twice...count as two wins in rpi calculations....or two losses if they lose.

While this is correct, I think small differences in our RPI take a backseat to other more important factors. I don't think having a 52 RPI vs a 53 RPI is going to make or break us. I want Wisconsin to win because I want them to be rated as high as possible when we play them.

The "number" beside our RPI is almost irrelevant at this point. We are where we are and our resume speaks. Wisconsin is a HUGE opportunity for us. To be fair, while it would be nice to beat Indiana, Wisconsin is the game we need. I think if we beat Wisconsin we can dance.
