In state kids?

One thing that gets overlooked on prep schools is the cost. You can get "scholarships" to some, but not all, and not necessarily to pay the full freight. And then there are travel costs, since most of them are out east. Obviously a top kid (usually one who's a stud but needs academic work) gets it paid for. I'm not sure an Aguek or David Wingett would. For some families, it's worth the investment to get a full ride to a better school. But not all families' finances can handle it.

A JC provides a scholarship, but obviously you lose a year or two of eligibility.

Patton and Daum show up on NBA draft predictions, so it's a good team.

I kinda wish we could experiment like a video game sorta.

Take all the instate kids the past few years:

-Agau (Georgetown)

-Hollins (UNO)

-Thurman (UNO)

-Daum  (South Dakota St.)

-Thomas (Creighton)

-Patton (Creighton)

-Billingsley (UTSA)

-Chang, Wingett, Strom, Arop, Akinwole, Allen

Throw em all on a team for a couple years and see how they would match up against P5 basketball. Just a thought that crossed my mind.

You don't really have a PG-- I guess Jaylin Bradley would qualify

PG- Bradley

SG- Hollins

SF- Thomas

PF- Daum

C- Patton

Bench: Agau, Thurman, BIllingsley--

Thats an NCAA team for sure

I think Hollins plays the point for UNO right? Has a pretty high assist average

To be 100% honest-- i don't follow them enough to know.

And I am not saying all these guys shoulda been offered by NU, or bashing miles--- just think its night to have almost 10 high caliber D1 players from our state going right now.

@Section_316 I was just kinda getting at starting Hollins over Bradley at PG in that hypothetical situation.

But yes it is awesome to see all the D1 talent from NE playing well at their respected levels. There are even more not on the list above, notably Thik Bol (Benson/ Southern Illinois) and the Bell West kid at Bowling Green

Lots and lots of talent out in these '17 and '18 classes too. Pretty cool.

This was my list from earlier in this thread. (current D-1 players)

How well would a team compete in the Big 10 this year if all the current D-1 players at other schools were at NU?  Here is a potential roster:

Akoy Agau: Georgetown (Central) 4-5

Justin Patton: Creighton (North) 5

Merrill Holden: Iowa State (L High) 4

Thik Bol: So Illinois (Benson) 4-5

Mike Daum: So Dakota St (Kimball) 3-4

Tyler Hagedorn: So Dakota (Norfolk) 4-3

Tre-Shawn Thurman: UNO (Central) 3

Mitch Hahn: UNO (Fremont) 2-3

Khyri Thomas: Creighton (Benson) 2-3

Nick Billingsley: Texas San Antonio (North/Central) 3

Jalen Bradley: Oral Roberts (Norfolk) 1-2

Tra-deon Hollins:UNO (Central) 1-2

Tristan Simpson: South Dakota (L N Star) 1

Probable Starters: 1-Bradley/Hollins, 2-Thomas, 3-Daum 4-Agau 5-Patton
