Sr., G/F, Detroit, Mich./Country Day
• Helped Illinois to a 3-0 record last week, averaging 25.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.7 steals in victories over Valparaiso, Mississippi Valley State and Alcorn State
• Posted her best game of the week against Mississippi Valley State, pouring in 27 points with a career-high 19 rebounds and three steals
• Finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and three steals against Valparaiso and ended the week with a 25-point effort against Alcorn State
• Wins her first career Player of the Week honor
• Last Illinois Player of the Week: Karisma Penn (Jan. 7, 2013)

Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll
Aerial Powers, Fr., F, MSU: Averaged 21.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals in two Spartan wins, including Sunday's triumph over nationally ranked Dayton in which she scored 24 points
Rachel Theriot, So., G, NEB: Scored a career-best 28 points and finished with seven rebounds and four assists in 40 minutes to help the Huskers claim a road win against Utah
Courtney Moses, Sr., G, PUR: Shot 73.9 percent from the field, averaging 21.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in guiding the Boilermakers to a pair of road wins that included a 30-point effort against Toledo

Freshman of the Week
Aerial Powers, Michigan State
F, Detroit, Mich./Country Day
• Averaged 21.5 points on 56.7 percent shooting, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals in victories over Canisius and nationally ranked Dayton last week
• Finished with 19 points, seven boards and one block in just 23 minutes against Canisius
• Scored a career-high 24 points in Sunday's win against Dayton, including a floater with under 10 seconds left to force overtime, and added seven rebounds, five assists and five steals
• Records the first weekly honor of her career
• Last Michigan State Freshman of the Week: Becca Mills (Nov. 14, 2011)

Amanda Zahui B., Minnesota
Fr., C, Stockholm, Sweden/Igelstavikens Gymnasium
• Recorded the first triple-double by a Big Ten player since 2012, finishing with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks, while also adding five assists, in a victory over Kansas
• Followed with a 16-point, 13-rebound performance in a weekend win against Navy
• Completed the week averaging 13.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 6.0 blocks and 3.0 assists, helping Minnesota to a 4-1 start to the season
• Wins her first career Player and Freshman of the Week accolades
• Last Minnesota Player of the Week: Micaëlla Riché (March 4, 2013)
• Last Minnesota Freshman of the Week: Kayla Hirt (Jan. 7, 2013)

 

Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll
Samantha Logic, Jr., G, IOWA: Averaged 21.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals as Iowa split a pair of road contests against No. 16 Colorado and Northern Iowa
Nicole Elmblad, Jr., G/F, MICH: Finished the week averaging 13.5 points and 10.0 rebounds and chipped in 3.5 assists to help Michigan to wins over Western Michigan and Pittsburgh
Emily Cady, Jr., F, NEB: Averaged a double-double on the week with 14.5 points and 11.0 rebounds as Nebraska posted victories against Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Southern
