2015 SF Edward Morrow - Signed

Just my opinion but I think this kid is in the bag. He isn't as big as Akoy but is a more complete player at this stage. Would love to see him get to a legit 6 8. He plays like a beast inside.

Rodman was 6'7" and not many people wanted to be in the paint with him.
Not that you can't excel in the NBA in the paint or as a rebounder/defensive specialist (Rodman) at only 6'7", but hopefully Miles has completely sold Ed on the Nebraska program being able to expand his game and skillset beyond the paint thus increasing his chances of reaching the NBA. Run-on sentence?

I'm thinking our chances just got a shot in the arm this past weekend at landing Morrow as Iowa picked up their 3rd commit from 6'6 Ahmad Wagner from Ohio. Not sure but I think Iowa has another scholly to give and they are supposedly going all out for the Sehic kid from the Houston area.

Depending on what rankings you're using the only 4 stars on the Hawkeyes are Gesell and Woodbury

When I think of a shot in the arm is that it would hurt. Wouldn't Iowa filling up their spots benefit us? Even though I think we've had a leg up on them for a while.

Need to brush up on your idioms.

shot in the arm

2. Fig. a boost or act of encouragement.

The pep talk was a real shot in the arm for all the guys. The good test grade was a shot in the arm for Gary.

Never was great at English, that's why I stuck to accounting. Thanks for the refresher

You've got to believe the commitment of Andrew White only helps when it comes to Ed Morrow. We've now had that higher profile type guy commit here. An older, more mature guy who has been through the process before picked NU while having many other options after realizing this was his best chance to succeed in school and at basketball. When you read Andrews quotes about why he picked to come here you know things are being done right. The floodgates should open and the build is taking off. Big time.

I agree that this commitment will now get the momentum rolling even faster IMO. All signs I see point to us being the team to beat with Morrow.

What signs point to us being the team to beat to get Morrow?

Pretty much every sign that there is

I'd agree.  He has been told hes the number one target of the class.  He was raised in Lincoln.  He has family there.  His parents went there.  Miles is getting talent to surround him.  They had at least one coach at every major AAU game he played.  He hasnt scheduled any other visits except Iowa and NU with NU being the last one so far.

Wondering if he pulls the trigger that weekend? I would think he would take 5 allotted vists, but I've been wrong before.

The staff has put in major time and effort to land him.  I will be shocked if he doesn't pick the Big Red and in all honesty I think we are the best place for him.  Morrow and Watson...commmmmmeee on down

I will be sick if he picks the Hawkeyes.

Much like Andrew White, we have been persistent with Ed from the beginning.  We had the whole staff sitting courtside at many of his AAU games.  We have the family connection.  Unless someone like Duke or Kansas offers, it would be an upset if he did not pick the Huskers.

Seems like as good a place as any for me to reaffirm my considerable distaste for the University of Iowa.

Not that I want to kill the thread, but my 13 years as an Iowa resident lead me to agree with you.

Come on down, Mr. Morrow!

Well, that settles it, then.  When even a guy who lived there on purpose didn't like it, how could a recruit possibly like it?  Save yourself the heartache and the disappointment, Ed; come be a Husker!
