Generally when Washut or another reporter tweets something like this, it means that Miles or another coach has told them off the record "yeah, we're looking at that kid." It doesn't mean we're going to get him, but he wouldn't tweet something like that if he didn't know at least something off record.

Most grad transfers want playing time AND a chance to compete. Miles will need to convince any candidates that we can potentially field a winner next year. Not gonna be easy considering we lost two top contributors from a 10th place team. Probably not easy to sell outsiders on the potential of our redshirts.

Well we have 7 new guys coming in as of now. 8 counting Josh or Sai. We are going to be much more competitive than last year.

Agreed 100%. But can Miles convince a potential transfer of that?

I am personally convinced that if we got Josh, there's a great chance we could make the tournament.

I am not sure what Josh is trying to achieve in transferring, but I doubt there is a BCS team that could offer more playing time than Nebraska.

And you can also throw in the arena, facilities, and the chance to make history.

I have to think adding Josh would sell a lot of season tickets for this coming year.

I would be hopeful... but far from convinced. We would be relying almost entirely on unknown quantities - a number of which would be freshman. And even if I were convinced (not that it matters), it's much easier to convince someone who has an interest in the program and has been following our recruiting process/redshirts than someone who is looking for a school to compete at. I'm just saying "Ya... we finished 10th and don't return much from last year's team... BUT we have a couple of 3* recruits, a 2* recruit AND some redshirts that sat out last year after doing next to nothing at their previous schools."

While I believe those guys will be good, I'm trying to look at the perspective of an outsider who needs convincing.

According to? I thought one site had him 4, one had him 3 and one had him unrated?

Espn has Webster as a 4*. Rivals hasn't rated him at all yet.

http://247sports.com/Season/2013-Basketball/RecruitRankings?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool

247 has him as the 116th ranked recruit in the class, top 115 are 4-stars, so he just missed.

And I'm pretty sure Washut said that Rivals just might end up not even evaluating Webster, because it's harder for them to do an accurate evaluation of foreign players that have so little film.  I will try to find the tweet where he mentioned that and then post it.

Here's that tweet about why Rivals hasn't evaluated Webster and may not do so:

Moving back to the original topic for a sec here...a Matt P on twitter is claiming that Josh Davis going back to NC State is a done deal and will be announced by next Monday at the latest. He just sounds like a random fan though and what about the dead period?

seems like a crazy fan to me. I get that josh is from NC, but why would he go back to the place where he was not given a chance to play?

I would think he would want to take a couple visits before deciding on a school.

The coaching staff at NC State is completely different now than when he played there.  NC State makes the most sense, IMO

NC state has 2 nba caliber power forwards in cj leslie and tj warren. I'm not sure that's where I'd want to go if i want minutes.

An Ipad doc in my shower and tv in the bathroom and a place to watch games with 5 tv that are 90 inch and 102 inch and an ipad in my locker and I want to have that music play wherever I am and food and drinks when I want and I want to have a warm pool and a cold pool with 103 inch tv and ipad hookups and can go there anytime I want.

What? they have that at Nebraska? And a new arena and new coach and "A Whole New Attitude"?

Who do I call?

-TJ Warren

TJ Warren was just told he will be given basically whatever he wants to stay by the staff because he was either going to to go pro or transfer out as well.

Why is everyone jumping ship at Tulane?

4 guys transfering out of the program

Wow.  Nebraska could definitely use Josh Davis and Lotanna Nwogbo.  Try to get them as a package deal!

Lotanna Nwogbo: (Soph), 6'8", 255 lbs, PF/C

Nwogbo's stats aren't anything to drool over, but he is a big body with D1 experience and can be coached up by Miles.

Tough to take two guys when you have one spot. The only way I see miles taking a transfer that has to sit out is a special talent guy that you simply can't pass up no matter what.
