looking at the remaining schedule, this is a must win.

here is a comment from freshman Jessica Petrie:

" It's not actually the gameday itself," freshman forward Jessica Petrie said, "It's the preparation beforehand. It's how we show up to practices two or three days before (the game), or the shootaround the morning of. It's the focus and intensity that we push each other with and how hard we hold each other accountable in the days before so that when it is game day we're ready and we know what we need to do to execute."

  • At 6-5 in the Big Ten and No. 52 in the NET, Michigan is fighting with Nebraska, Michigan State and Penn State for positioning in the Big Ten standings with upcoming road games at No. 3 Iowa and No. 8 Ohio State along with a rematch against Michigan State in Ann Arbor.
  • Defense was the key to Nebraska’s 62-43 win over Michigan three weeks ago in Lincoln. The Huskers won the possession game against the Wolverines with a plus-18 edge on the boards and a plus-three advantage in turnovers. NU also held Michigan to just 32.6 percent shooting. Both teams enter Tuesday’s game at 6-5 in the Big Ten, but the Wolverines are coming off an 80-75 win at Penn State on Saturday.
  • In Big Ten play, Michigan is averaging 67 points and allowing 67.7 points per game. Michigan is hitting 41.6 percent from the field, including 33.7 percent from long range. The Wolverines have hit just 68.2 percent of their free throws. The normally tenacious rebounders have been beaten on the boards, 33.2-31.7. However, they do own a plus-3.3 turnover margin.

Needless to say, we really need to get one on the road now after the Rutgers loss.  Would've liked our chances tonight better before Sat.'s results obviously, which as Red Don pointed out includes UM's road W vs. PSU.  I'll use the fan cliche of "urgency and redemption" needed for the NU women tonight.  I trust they still believe in themselves and what they can accomplish as a basketball team this season.  Still enough games left to accomplish big things.  (t starts tonight.  We'll see what happens.  GBR!!!

Such sloppy play is inexcusable.  We are so stagnant on offense. Try to get to low post or cast up a three which we don’t shoot well.  Michigan is gettable but unfortunately, so are we.

46-43 lead.  We have a good chance if Jaz is able to play and Markowski doesn’t get her 4th foul early.  Defense is effective.  We need to hang onto this.
