Officials sounded attrocious.  Does a school have any recourse to have the officiating reviewed? They don't sound qualified.  I've never heard of rabbit eared officials telling a radio guy to pipe down before.

Griese constantly criticizes the officials - every game.  I have several times watched the games while listening to his criticisms and usually I think the refs have made a reasonable call. I just don't see what he sees.  He doesn't seem to be critical when the calls go the Huskers' way.  And c'mon officials can't be wrong/incompetent every game.

While these numbers aren't completely conclusive, in this game fouls were 19 to 18.  Can't get much more even than that

That is assuming the actual number of fouls committed in the game were even.  Without the benefit of watching the game, it didn't sound like that was the case. It will be interesting to see if anything more is written or said about the officiating.

Saw this elsewhere that may help explain.

Unlike Matt Coatney, IMO Jeff's in an "interesting" position because he's the Senior Associate Communications Director-Operations for Husker women's basketball, as well as the radio color commentator. Officials can assess a T to team personnel at the scorers table.

It should have been worse towards Lamar. There was one time Potts got a foul called on her as she was backing away from the Lamar player driving to the basket. she was from the angle of the camera 3 to 4 foot away from said player.

No I haven't listened to men's bb on the radio in a long time so I lack that basis of comparison.  But today I could watch the came same time as i heard the commentary.  This was the first time this year I could do this, but in past years I have been annoyed at JG constantly - like 15+ times a game - disagreeing with the officials.  Some of the comments made about officiating here ... well that's just not what i think i saw. If replay is available, i will re-watch the game over the weekend looking for three incidents: 1) on Hake's double dribble did an opponent touch the ball between dribbles; 2) was Potts "pulled down from behind" before SHE was assessed a foul; 3) was there distance between Potts and the shooter when Potts was called for the foul?

Was at the game.  Observations:

Maybe 30-40 Husker fans there.  Not bad since the gym otherwise was pretty empty.

officials let a lot go, especially by Lamar, but it wasn’t as bad as claimed here.

Lamar is pretty good and played hard.  They started red hot and we couldn’t stop their dribble drive.

Our switch to zone and increased intensity by 2nd unit in 2nd quarter were keys to turnaround.

Stewart was still using scooter.

Potts had a quietly efficient 22.  She’s got the potential to be very good.

As a sometimes critic of Markowski, happy to admit she’s playing aggressively well and wants the ball at crunch time.

Jaz seemed unfocused at the start but was money when it was most needed.  She has to play 4 good qtrs against good competition for us to have a chance.

White was solid, especially at crunch time.

Everyone else contributed, but we need a 5th difference maker badly.  Getting Stewart back will help but Weidner was most likely that person.

They are being coached hard during play, especially on defense by our assist. coaches, and it seems to be working.  This team is not overly athletic but is playing with more defensive intensity this year.

Matchup between Markowski and TCU’s 6’7” post will be worth a watch on Saturday.  Unfortunately I can’t go.

I totally agree on the need for a 5th player to step up.  Moriarity and Krull have been given opportunities but so far haven't.  Maybe it's time to give Nisseley a shot at starting at the 3 position.

NU being 12-12 from the FT line in the 2nd half seems to have allowed the Huskers to pull away for a 14-pt. win. GBR

Had NU done that against Creighton. NU wins, but they didn't.

It would be great for rebounding and athleticism if Coley or Moriarty were the 5th but they just haven’t performed or been coached up.  Neither has Krull or Nisseley, but at least the sample size is small for Nisseley.  Hake has the best season numbers but that would give us a very small backcourt.  Maybe that doesn’t matter given how much Williams subs and how much White rebounds for her size.

Would that be the Nisseley that led the team in +\- that has not performed.
