This is some high level volleyball!  Especially for only being Sept. 12. 
 

Sorry, friends, but I just don’t see Maggie M usurping either Allick or Andi Jackson and seeing any consequential minutes at the middle blocker position this season.

She's been a valuable member of this team and will continue to be. Hopefully She's the kind of teammate that just wants to win and is prepared to play.

So we are wasting a bb scholarship on a vb bench sitter.  Come to bb full time Maggie, get some floor time.

Watched Stanford match last night. The new freshman are a very special group. ....No. 1 recruiting class w/ no. 1 player out of H.S.  Defense, quickness and speed are amazing.

 

Maggie watched the entire match. It will be tough for anyone to beat out our other mids playing now. The starters seemed to be established, and probably won't see to much changing now. ...baring injuries. Maggie will get subbing time most likely.

 

Anyway...Like someone mentioned before, Maggie might give some thought as to what she want's to do next year. Hard to say for sure. She has several options. We need her on the BBall team for sure.

I’m just going to say this (yet again): as long as Maggie is trying to play both volleyball and basketball, she’ll never reach her full potential in either sport. She can be good in both sports, she can even be a contributor on both teams….both realize her full potential? I don’t see how.

I think by the end of VB season she will make a decision between both sports and I am sure that will be after a long discussion with Cook and Wiliams. I don't think it was her intention to play both sports indefinitely but to make a selection once she has experienced both.

When you have the number one Setter, OH, MB, and L/DS in the class good things happen. I too hope Maggie makes a choice to play only one sport after this year.

well, jmo but...i kinda kept one eye on MM on the bench. i don't think she is happy at all. the couple times i noticed the rest of the team was celebrating a play and there was not much emotion from MM. at the end of the game she ran on the court and patted someone on the back, but, the smile was gone very quick. it does make you wonder what will happen. if a decision is coming in the near future, i wish her nothing but the best. she could be playing vb for a lot of teams. i really hope she sticks around, but, i wouldn't put money on it. i will also add........i could be way off base.

I worry about Ally Batenhorst - that gal would absolutely be starting for any other VB team in America, but here, she hardly plays. 
That’s the drawback to having dream team-level talent like John Cook has this year. Everyone on the roster was a nationally-ranked star in high school and is super competitive. They all expect to play and with only 6 spots on the floor, you just can’t keep everyone happy.

This is the best possible problem to have. I really wish Hoiberg, Williams, and Rhule had the exact same problem.
