Nebraska finally fills that 12th scholarship with the commitment of Matar Diop and it's with the sort of dude you'd want at this point of the game...big, has some ups, can make some outside shots, is a little raw.  Diop, from Dakar, Senegal, spent two years at NBA Academy Africa prior to a yea at Keystone Athletic Academy in Erie, PA.

Footage before he started school in the US.

Under the radar recruit in a sense (i blame twitter) because we offered on July 11th and no one in Husker twitter seemed to pick up on it

This was awesome to hear this afternoon.  This is more than I would have dreamed of at this point.   Love that he has only been playing for 6 years with athletic ability.  Those types can really figure it out at any time.

Project or prepared to play a role???

with bk’s injury history i would not be surprised if we see him this year but i’d assume the staff sees him as a developmental player

Woah, he learned english in 2021. Seems to be a pretty sharp and determined kid.

I saw this too and was like Holy Smokes! I'm over here trying to learn Spanish for at least a decade. We are not the same 😂

If y'all get a chance, give this a watch. Gives good perspective on his journey and how he plays. Also, based on the thumbnail he did take a visit. No one locally knew though, which is kind cool.

Seems like the local writers don’t get the scoop anymore, others knew he was going to visit and had an offer.

Where does he stand on the Dedoch Chan late summer addition scale?

Is the top end of that scale Evan Taylor or Thorir?
