Still 9 - 0 in the middle of the 7th.  Nice outing by Brockett.  Christo, has Ann electric arm.  Needs to work on command.  Nice to see back to back scoreless innings.

Probably should have let Bergmann try to finish the 8th and brought Worthley in for the 9th.  Small little complaint with an 8 run lead.

Nice inning on offense.  Otherwise, sorta meh.

Been a weird series for us offensively, but hard to argue with the results. Hope we can cash in on opportunities in multiple innings tomorrow - although I'm not going to argue if they want to have another 9-run inning. 

 

Brockett did a great job working around trouble and putting up zero after zero.

 

However, I was really excited about what Christo did today. That's back to back great outings for him. The movement on his fastball today was outstanding. He's still having a little trouble spotting it, but wow. Night and day difference from what he was doing last year and early this year to now. He also threw a couple nasty curve balls today.

 

Getting that dude going would be a huge benefit down the stretch for a bullpen that has slowly evolved into a significant strength. Not sure we have anyone else that throws harder than Christo, so he can be a big help if he keeps throwing like he has lately.

 

We're set up nicely for Sunday, as Walsh, Bunz, and Shay all have yet to throw. We came into the weekend needing to sweep, but without Kaminska available and with Olson struggling yesterday, it wasn't a given. I like how things are setting up, though.

Second day in a row for Nebraska in which the winning pitcher is now 2-0 on the season. Great performance by Jackson Brockett this afternoon, and the D did pretty well, too. The offense was electric in the 2nd inn. All in all, I'll take a 9-2 win any day of the week. Let's do it again tomorrow, Big Red. GBR

Only 2 Big Ten games being played today. Former last place Ohio St. defeated former tied-for-1st Maryland, 13-8. 

 

Noticed that Indiana is 18-1 at home thus far. Nebraska's looking to get to 10-3 at home after today. GBR

Through 4 inn. Will Walsh hasn't surrendered a hit. He has 4 K's, 4 flyouts, and 4 groundouts. This 4th inn. he did have to navigate a scoreless inn. with 2 baserunners (BB & E).
