Omaha and CU's skipper's have coached circles around Bolt the past couple years. Just not making mistakes and let us beat ourselves and we do 90% of the time.,

Well, when you have nothing in the bullpen, it's kind of hard to make very many moves.

Olson and Kaminska combined are 7 - 1 with a 2.61 ERA

All other starters combined are 1 - 2 with an 11.14 ERA

Relievers combined are 3 - 4 with a 5.22 ERA

I'm not saying our whole pitching staff needs to pitch to Olson and Kaminska numbers, but get us in the low 4 ERA's we're going to win a bunch of games.

Most frustrating part of our pitching staff is the inconsistency outside Olson and Kaminska.  Shay pitches lights out against Vanderbilt.  Struggles against Omaha and Nicholls.  Garza is lights out against South Alabama and Omaha.  Can't get out of the 2nd against Nicholls.  Brockett had issued 1 walk in 10 2/3 innings.  Walks the bases loaded in the 1st and gives up 3 runs in the 2nd.  It's really hard to form a pitching staff when you never know what your getting.

What are we doing?  You CANNOT afford to lose games like tonight.  Our schedule just isn't strong enough.

What a blow.  What a meltdown.  We're not always going to be able to rely on our 1-2 Fri/Sat punch to get us 2 for sure wins.

The main concern with Bolt was his hiring of Christy due to his zero experience as a pitching coach.

Unfortunately that’s rearing its ugly head. I can’t remember a time our pen was this thin and the lack of talent on the staff.

With our current RPI and remaining schedule it’s pretty much win the Big Ten tournament or bust…..that is assuming we even get there.

Fortunately, we can probably ride the arms of our Friday/Saturday guys to a good enough B1G record to make the tournament.

Unfortunately, our pitching is not set up to do well in tournament play.  Especially if one of our top two guys would lose a game.
