Halftime. Husker Ladies by 10 points (45-35). Huskers' offense is showing some mojo. Nice moves in the paint. Alexis with some nifty moves under the basket, foiling the double team's forest of arms. Huskers shooting 67% vs 45% for Illinois, also winning the Rebound battle, but turnovers still problematic. :Cheer2::Gobigred:

Jazz and Issie are running their own plays together :)  We must keep hitting the short stuff....drive to the basket.   Illinois is double teaming Markowski, but not other centers or Issie...and Illinois is paying the price for it. Our inside game is hurting them.

Yes, the zone has slowed their driving to the basket, and that's Ill's bread and butter. What will be Illinois game plan in 2nd half. Not sure they can hang with us with their 3.

They may change their defensive pace and aggressiveness. Their playing us pretty much straight up, and it's not working for them. They just about have to go after our shooters.

We on the other hand have to control their drives to the bucket.

Second half will be interesting. Think we've surprised them a little.

Husker Ladies win by 33 Points; 90-57 :Cheer2::Cheer2::Cheer2: Probably the most complete game by the Huskers since the 90- 67 Win over Maryland on Dec 4th.

Shooting FG's 59% vs 34% for Illinois, Won the Rebound battle 44-24, Points in the Paint: 46-18, and controlled the turnovers in the 2nd half, 9 vs 6 for Maryland for the full game. In addition Huskers were heating up the 3-point game, 10-24 (42%) vs 6-26 (23%) for Illinois.   :Cheer2::Gobigred:

Both teams are probably asking the same question, Who is this team?  Looked like a prepared team and the zone frustrated the Illini.  Jaz looked for her shot, which is always a good thing.  The bench did contribute tonight.  Now, can we back it up with a great performance against Northwestern?

Wow...where was this game been hiding.? Jazz was at her best, in all phases of her game.  (Issie too !)

And the team as a whole, shot so well. Without seeing stats it has to be 50% plus'

The 1-1-2-1 zone defence was the perfect answer to the Illinois floor game.  (Not sure if the 1 up front was man on) Could have been kind of a modified 1-3-1

A real team win. Nice job !    This can change the post play picture if we can keep it up.

Lookin good !!!

PS we brutalized them on the boards 44-24  !!
