What other basketball coach at Nebraska can you think of that imploded everything around them enough where they had to take a leave of absence in the middle of the season?

They've never won a tournament game we've had plenty of assistants that were turds this is a terrible basketball program

I did not expect a reply that would amount to figuratively dropping a full outhouse onto reunion day

I'm just tired of losing man it seems like all of us on here give more of a damn about the basketball program than the ones in charge of it and it's been that way for aloooong time.

B-ball ain’t the bread winner

Yeah but we have alot of potential resources. There isn't 1 thing K-State has that is way better other than history and I doubt many kids today are even aware of it. Nebraska should be making the tournament and winning games here and there every few years.

Matt A. No doubt sucked but who hired him? Even Doc 2.0 was a dud here. I think there's just more to it.

It just seemed odd that you would make some sort of comment seemingly to marvel at people bagging on ex-coaches when it seems like you're just biding your time to be the first person to drop a mudpie on the next coach we hire.

It's hard to say anyone during the Hoiberg tenure has done a good job.

But it's not impossible.  Consider this, for example:

1. In the 10 games this season when all five starters were available, NU gets 7 wins against 3 losses, including dominant wins over Creighton and Iowa and a final-possession screw-up by the refs in a loss to No. 1 Purdue.
2. Replacing minutes of two gone-for-the-season, highly-proficient defenders with the likes of walk-on Sam Hoiberg is not ideal--but Hoiberg & Co. managed a win over Penn St. nonetheless.

I think this was updated to 6-4, not 7-3.  However, we did look a heck of a lot better.  We still had IU in there though, so there's no guarantee that we would have done a ton.  I do think we could have won another 1-3 games by this point though.

That is wrong too.  It's actually 5-5, here are the first ten games after Walker returned:

  Jan 3 42 Michigan St. L, 74-56   Away B10   30 81 38 15 7-13 0-0 1-8 2 7 3 3 1 1 1

  Dec 29 32 Iowa W, 66-50   Home B10   21 77 30 10 5-9 0-0 0-0 2 6 0 4 1 1 4
  Dec 20 213 Queens W, 75-65   Home   MVP 28 145 20 13 6-8 0-0 1-2 1 5 6 1 2 2 2
  Dec 17 20 Kansas St. L, 71-56   Semi-Away     27 66 25 7 1-5 0-0 5-6 1 5 3 5 2 0 4
  Dec 10 5 Purdue L, 65-62 OT Home B10   33 109 25 14 7-13 0-0 0-0 6 4 1 2 1 0 4
  Dec 7 21 Indiana L, 81-65   Away B10   32 90 25 11 5-7 0-0 1-4 1 4 5 5 0 2 1
  Dec 4 9 Creighton W, 63-53   Away     23 116 41 22 11-16 0-0 0-0 4 4 2 3 0 0 3

  Nov 30 162 Boston College W, 88-67   Home     18 168 14 10 5-6 0-0 0-0 1 4 0 0 0 0 3
  Nov 27 186 Florida St. W, 75-58   Neutral   MVP 32 164 20 20 10-12 0-0 0-0 6 7 4 1 0 0 1
  Nov 25 37 Memphis L, 73-61   Neutral     35 78 33 15 7-10 0-1 1-2 6 6 3 9 1 1 2

Iowa and Creighton were decent wins, but the other three were pretty non impressive.

No it's not. The stat was about the starting 5 of Griesel, Walker, Gary, Manny and CJ, I believe, but really it's about the first four. Griesel didn't play vs. Indiana but did vs. Minnesota. Then Gary got hurt the next game vs. Illinois, so 6-4 is the stat.
