The Volleyball team got a break with a 2 seed in the the Louisville regional so they chances are better for making it to Omaha. Was thinking we would get with Texas, or Wisconsin.

Agree, great placement.  My only complaint, we had to wait until the final name was called, to hear "Nebraska".  Fingers crossed for Omaha.  WBB can wait another week or two for Maggie.

i had been thinking the huskers might be seeing mm a bit earlier than expected. however, now i think they have a better shot at reaching the final four. however, never know at this time of year.

i'd be kinda interested to know about her decision to come out a year early. understand it is her decision, but, wonder if some were trying to talk her out of it. hate to use the "wasted year" phrase.......but, does make a person wonder. i still think she is a great athlete and odds are she is going to be just fine.

Is there highlights of the game anywhere? I got to listen to it on the radio while at work but I'd really like to see the Jaz Shelly OT Extravaganza you know?

Shoot.  Yesterday I saw a video of Jazz hitting her 3's in overtime.  But for the life of me, I don't know where I saw it.

I will post it if I find it.

At this point, I think it would a remarkable feat to make it to Omaha.  That said, Cook has the chops to make it happen.

huh.......i just don't see it being a "remarkable" feat. sure, not easy....never is when it is tourney time. however, still think this bracket gives them a very good shot to make it to Omaha.

We lost one of the best back line players in the country due to injury.  Overcoming an injury such as that, late in the season, would make a final four run remarkable in my book.  But that is solely my humble opinion that may, or may not be shared by others.

Team continuity and chemistry can be fickle.  I compare it to a simple chair.  With all four legs it is strong and stable.  Lose one of the legs and it becomes much less stable and unless it is is properly manipulated and stabilized, will fail.  Cook and his staff are the best of the best.  If anyone can find the stabilization,  it is that bunch.  But again, it would be a remarkable feat.

One thing that helps cook is that he's stockpiled a lot of extra chair parts.  He'll need to find the right one, and make the repairs, but he at least has the chair parts on hand.

Generally yes, but this year, at DS, not so much.   This is where the loss of Akana hurts us.   We lost a server and defensive specialist in Knuckles.  Hames can serve and dig well.  Evans can't play front row at all.   He's trying to fill  with an outside hitter playing back row (Batenhorst), and doesn't bode well against elite 8 and better competition.  He's missing extra back row chair parts this year.
