redsteve
WOW ! Potts is the top player in Mo., by several web sites. A power forward we need. From OWH Nebraska women's basketball landed a commitment from a former Missouri Gatorade player of the year on Friday. Incarnate Word Academy (Mo.) power forward Natalie Potts announced her commitment to the Huskers on Twitter. "Cant (sic) wait to start my next journey as a Cornhusker," Potts wrote on Twitter. In addition to being the 2020-21 Missouri Gatorade player of the year, Potts also was the MaxPreps Missouri player of the year and Prep Girls Hoops Missouri co-player of the year for the 2020-21 season. She averaged 19.3 points and 8.6 rebounds during the 2021-22 season at Incarnate Word, which won its fifth straight state title. The 6-foot-2, 2023 prospect chose NU over offers from Creighton, Michigan, Illinois Kansas State and more. Huskerpapa
Nice get... https://omaha.com/sports/huskers/womens-basketball/nebraska-womens-basketball-lands-commit-from-natalie-potts/article_675192d0-eeac-11ec-96f9-d7b484bd10a5.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_Omaha_World-Herald_Huskers Edited June 18, 2022 by Huskerpapa Red Don, mwm89 and HUD 1
redsteve
Did a quick search.... Potts, as was mentioned, is the #1 prospect in Mo. Her school Incarnate Word Academy (St Louis) last season, was undefeated at 29-0. (5th straight title) ...and by MAXPREPS....the team was #10 in the national rankings for HS girls teams. Comes from a wining program....This girl know how to win. (Will bring that mentality with her) 2023 recruiting class is developing real nicely. HUD
What's nice is this class consisting of Natalie Potts and Logan Nissley come on the heals of the 2022 recruits consisting of Maggie Mendelson and Callin Hake and the 2021 class of Alexis Markowski, Allison Weidner and Kendall Moriarty. These are the best or near best players from Missouri, North Dakota, Utah, Minnesota, Nebraska and Indiana. Add in two great transfers in Jaz Shelly last season and Maddie Krull this season. We are definitely looking at another step up this season hopefully getting to a top 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Plus we have a new assistant coach in Jessica Keller who will fill several roles and will fit in nicely as well. It should be noted that her previous Illinois St. team was the first to offer our latest recruit Natalie Potts. Now we just need to get Britt Prince for the 2024 class. HUD
Sam McKewon OWH 6/27/22 Big get for Husker women Pay closer attention to a prospect’s offer list — and among those offers, which schools are really interested — over a prospect’s star ranking. So when Nebraska women’s basketball lands 2023 recruit Natalie Potts, who strongly considered Creighton and Gonzaga, take note. CU and GU recruit smart, versatile players who can move, pass, shoot and win in the NCAA tournament. Both teams have given the Huskers trouble. HUD
I believe Incarnate Word Academy where she plays would fit into Class B in Nebraska size wise. It is an all girls catholic school. mwm89
Neb Nets
NU WBB Facebook page just posted that Logan Nissley was named the North Dakota Gatorade player of the year for the third consecutive year! An impressive feat, to be sure. However, I’m trying to temper my runaway enthusiasm by reminding myself that we’re talking about North Dakota - not exactly a basketball recruiting hotbed or a densely-populated state. It’s not like we’re getting the 3-time Texas or California high school player of the year. I just don’t want to place any unrealistic expectations on the performance of an incoming true freshman next year. And yet, in the absence of Sam and possibly Jaz, we may need her to contribute next season as a freshman. Hoping for the best for her! HUD
Last night Natalie Potts's team Incarnate Word Academy won the class 6(largest class) Missouri State championship with their 100th consecutive win. Longest winning streak in the nation. Sixth straight championship. Max Preps had Incarnate Word Academy rated 6th in the nation a week ago.
