Whitney Lauenstein is in there in the 3rd set. Apparently she only practiced one day this week, same day (Weds.) that Nicklin Hames practiced "40%."

Nebraska will have to play at Louisville in the Regionals next weekend as L'Ville defeated Purdue on Saturday, which means the Cardinals are hosting the next 2 rounds of the NCAA tourney. Next weekend the matches will be in cavernous "YUM Center," unlike the opening 2 rounds which were played at the tiny gym known as "L&M Arena."

There are two Big Ten matchups in the NCAA tournament this round:

 

#2 Minnesota vs. #3 Ohio State

#1 Wisconsin vs. #4 Penn State

The Huskers are serving very well today. Passing pretty good, and figuring out how to score out of system. Ally is settling into her role in the back row and getting some great digs.

Disappointing end to the season.  Had really high hopes for this year.  Of course we’ll reload and be back, but this season and the way it ended is quite a disappointment

Bergen Reilly is coming in January and she’s very good. She set for the senior national team last summer after the setter had Covid. But I do hope they find an experienced setter in the portal, just in case.

Losing Kenzie Knuckles at the very end of the regular season really messed with the team's resolve, it seemed. She was the rock of the team. Too bad it ended that way for the seniors, they were really, really good in their 4 or 5 years in Lincoln.

Merritt Beason is N. The Florida transfer averaged over 3 kills per set and hit .261 on the season. She is a 6 rotation player and was a part of the U21 national team that won the gold in the Pan American cup.

Beason was on that U21 national team with both Lexi Rodriquez and Bekka Allick. Good get by the Big Red.
