Juwan Gary - Transfer N

Recommended Posts

I think he’s actually the only recruit we’ve had in the last three years that didn’t reference Hoiberg’s NBA connections in his Rivals commitment article. Just talked about his relationship and comfort level with the coaches. And said, “If I lose, it won’t be for lack of effort. Nobody is ever going to question my energy”. Sounds like a Doc player, but good enough to start for an NCAA tournament 6-seed. He and Griesel are the types of players I’ve been hoping Hoiberg would start getting. I’m happy with it.

Maybe if we recruit non shooters they will be shooters finally. Because it sure seems like we recruit these "shooters" that never turn out to be shooters.

Lol...that was Doc's recruiting philosophy.   I need to find that quote as your take is pretty spot on.

I think it was something close to --- I want to recruit players that will hustle and defend, I can teach shooting.

Well, Wilcher turned out to be one. I still think Tominaga could be one after getting settled at this level with a more restrained/defined role.
