Worst Coach in Husker Hoops History

This isn't an opinion, it's a fact.

Fred Hoiberg is now the worst head coach in Nebraska men's basketball history. That's not even removing any coaches due to low sample size.

Worst Winning Record at Nebraska:

Worst Conference Record at Nebraska:

It's interesting Fred, his grandfather and Doc hold 5 of the 10 postions.

I note that Northwestern finished 1-17 in the Big Ten in 2007-8. Can anyone find out whether a team has gone an entire season with no wins or are we going for the record this year?

We've never had a 0-and conference record in Nebraska basketball history. Some 1-9 sort of records. Never 0-and.

If we can just finish O-20, we can edge out Northwestern's 0-16. So that would be sort of a milestone (or millstone) to shoot for this year. And, better yet, if we could pull ourselves together and win the conference tournament, then I smell made-for-tv movie!

I want to know who the purple NU sacrificed to get their NCAA tournament win.

I think they sacrificed their lacrosse team who had a dynasty from 2005-2012, but had trouble after 2012. (Thankfully as an NU lacrosse fan, they're back with a vengeance!)

Or, they sacrificed ME! I graduated two years too early... or their flash in a pan was two years too late... take your pick!

For those asking, "How does Fred get out of Rock Bottom and stop writing history for the worst coaching career in Nebraska basketball history?"

Well...

It would take 5 wins out of our (at a minimum) 7 remaining games to eclipse Adolf Lewandowski to crawl back to the 2nd worst winning percentage in Nebraska basketball history.

It would take 6 straight conference wins, winning Wednesday thru Sunday in the Big Ten Tournament, and 4 straight conference wins next season to eclipse L.F. "Pop" Klein to crawl back to the 2nd worst conference winning percentage in Nebraska basketball history.

So you're telling me there's a chance?

That's a couple of very sad stats. Once upon a time it seemed almost reasonable to hope for 5 wins in 7 games, not all that long ago, in fact.
