We’re putting together a helluva NIL package for Baylor.  If we don’t get him it’s not going to be that we didn’t offer enough.

DONU should have kicked in the money they saved with Fred's contract renegotiation

Still some late transfers dribbling in today: PF Shon Robinson of San Jose State, PG Mark Freeman of Illinois State, SF Rashun Williams of Radford.

Deadline was Sunday, but schools have to process and forward them and NCAA releases them.

Howard started following two St. Bonnie guards that went portaling as well as an SMU G. Safe to say were trying like hell to fill one more spot.

This take is way too pessimistic.  Here's why:

   1.  Hoiberg sent a point guard last year into a $2.5 million contract at the NBA--he played a lot and well this year, with a bunch of highlights on social media.

   2.  Hoiberg is sending a one-and-done guard into the NBA draft this year, following a freshman season, who is likely to be picked in a solid slot--well beyond his pre-season projections.

   3.  Hoiberg has two upper-class guards doing well in pre-draft workouts.

   4.  Hoiberg stayed in solid competition this off-season, to the end, with Kentucky for a scorer--the only school beside Kentucky who managed to get an on-campus visit from that player.

   5.  Hoiberg landed two high-quality guards from the transfer portal--players who were in high demand.

Good points. The one downside of getting two high-quality guards is that we don't have the obvious starting spots available.

I was mostly joking around, but I do think there is still a lot of quality in the portal and we have a shot at landing another contributor.

You're right there. One thing that's sort of a positive for fans regarding the portal: You can usually pick up somebody who fits a need. I'd guess most fan bases who begin portal season depressed over who's leaving by the end are pretty happy with how their roster looks. The exception, of course, would be the mid-majors who lose their stars and the power schools that are dumpster fires.

And with all that, can only manage a 26% overall winning percentage at Nebraska and a very solid 15% conference winning percentage.
