not sure about that...........way too many stupid fouls!

Nebraska had plenty of fouls, no doubt, and a bunch were stupid.  But, many other calls were not fouls or called the same way on both ends.  Clark got at least 2 calls at the hoop where she initiated all the contact and the defender didn't do anything.  The one called on Coley was ridiculous - Coley was bailing and Clark smacked Coley in the head.  Czinano simply fell over once and got a call.  Nebraska basically got no contact fouls at the hoop.  The offensive foul on Weidner, Clark gets away with the entire game.  Her off-ball arm is extended almost every time she makes a move and once the defender is moving, all it takes is a little nudge to get them off balance.  Honestly, you could make that call on most ball handlers at any time.  That's why the call on Weidner can't be made because it hasn't been called the other 38 minutes.  This game was 5 on 8 from the start of the 2nd quarter on.

Quote

Iowa City, Iowa - Alexis Markowski erupted for a career-high 27 points on a career-high six three-pointers, but it was not enough to stop Iowa from managing a 93-83 women's basketball win over Nebraska on Sunday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena................

Quote

Seven different Huskers were whistled for two first-half fouls, while Clark, who scored 11 points despite 2-of-10 shooting from the field, was the only Hawkeye to get called for a foul in the opening 20 minutes, which came on the offensive end...................

Quote

In the second half, Iowa took its first lead at 54-53 on a pair of Czinano free throws with 6:13 left, but Nebraska answered with an 8-0 run that included five points from freshman guard Kendall Moriarty, who made NU's first free throw of the game with 4:35 left in the third period to give the Huskers a 61-54 lead..........

Quote

Nebraska got its final points on a driving layup from Allison Weidner, who finished with eight points and five assists in her first career start. With seconds remaining, Iowa called timeout to advance the ball and Clark scored on a driving layup with one second left to give Iowa a 10-point win.

28 fouls to 7?  Good god, Amy needs to lose it at press conference.

Coatney's post game interview w/ Coach: "what do you attribute the difference between the 1st and 2nd quarters(?)? Silence.  Coatney: 'You don't have to answer that, we'll just move on"  Probably gave him a look like "well, what do YOU think?".  Yeah we were a little bit overly aggressive at times, reaching and bumping when we should have just stayed with them without resulting to that.  When we backed off a bit in the 2nd half, they simply executed and scored a lot of baskets in close.  Great effort and energy by the ladies under the circumstances.  Wish it would have been enough.

Purely bush league on the part of Iowa and Clark.  No way to justify that or rationalize those actions.  They are BUSH LEAGUE!!!!  And I'm not just saying that because it's Iowa and we lost.

Next time either walk off the court and let them score OR run her into the front row and stand over her as her lays there.

Pick one or the other.😐
