Nebraska (6-11) vs Purdue (13-2) game thread

Recommended Posts

I just want to say... I'm really tired by all these announcers saying things like "Nebraska has hung in there against some really good teams" and other "on the bright side" commentary. Yeah, I know, what else do they have to talk about?

But let's get over this. A loss is a loss and we're 100% losing our conference games.

I don't think that's a completely fair statement. (I mean...fair for a game thread, but) It's more like hodge podge P5 bench talent playing like a middling mid-major team.

Big Sky players: Mayen, Lakes, Edwards, Andre, Webster, McPherson, Wilcher.

Half our roster.

Third year into this and the talent is worse than when miles left.

The most Lat Mayen sequence  happened. Pass hits him wide open in the hands as he is cutting, he fumbles the ball awkwardly, proceeds to brick a  fadeaway shot, and gives up a bucket on the other end!

I don't like pounding on a player that much, but at this point if we just talk about him it looks like that's what we are doing.

I love the multiple times per game that Derrick Walker pins and boxes the fuck out of his guy on a free throw miss - and Lat’s finesse effort allows an offensive rebound after ball hits the ground twice.

Also love it when Lat takes it up at 6-7/6-8 and finesse finger rolls it like a princess.

least favorite player in program history.

Painter complaining about calls when his team was in the bonus 3 minutes into each half. Read the room guy.

Would kill for a guy who coached hungry like that

Was actually my thought too but held my breath.

We talk about Hoiberg exhibiting zero energy. Painter is engaged the entire game even when you're playing a #250 / worst conference opponent type of game.
