People who complain about all the transfers, it's time for you to stop telling everyone else to get off your lawn.  The retirement home down the street has open beds.

Actually, in Lincoln, and other similar communities,  they don't.   Most have waiting lists.  Difficult to find a room.   Just for sake of accuracy.  If you or a loved one might be needing one in the relatively near future, don't dawdle.   (Jimmy, not trying to single you out here 😉).

Points to ponder: 1. March Madness fans were shut out last year 2. No one has anything else to do 3. Weekday nights may be a more popular format for the Great Eight games than squeezing them in on weekend afternoons ( at least if the weather is nice). With that said, everyone loves underdogs once their "home team" is out (or as in our traditional case, never gets in).

Or it's very possible that legalized sports betting is now a lot more accessible and a major shift away from the GME stock craze has moved its entertainment money into March Madness. All these people putting those $1,400 checks to use.

I am enjoying new names and schools having success.  Never been a UCLA fan but I have to admit I am pleased they are doing well.  Get tired of Izzo, Roy W., Coach K. and  Calipari.  Wayne Tinkle showed he can coach as have many others without five star talent.

UCLA? The 11-time NCAA champions? That school is up there with the likes of Michigan State, UNC, Duke, Kentucky.

Or you're just saying in this year as a play-in team?

Here's some other teams who have such low standards as well:

Oregon: lost 2 of their last 4 tournament games; Pac-12 regular season champions the last 3 seasons; couldn't even make it to the Sweet 16 in 2019 and got blown out by USC this year.

Florida State: lost 2 of their last 4 tournament games; got blown out in those two losses.

Alabama: lost 2 of their last 4 tournament games; SEC regular season champions and conference tournament champions; got blown out in one of those and lost to a play-in team in their other loss.

Villanova: lost 2 of their last 4 tournament games; Big East regular season champions 3 seasons in a row; couldn't even make it to the Sweet 16 in 2019 and got blown out in one of their losses.

Oral Roberts: lost 2 of their last 4 tournament games; Summit League tournament champions; couldn't even make it to the Sweet 16 in 2008 and got blown out in one of their losses.

Loyola Chicago: lost 2 of their last 4 tournament games; Missouri Valley champions and conference tournament champions; couldn't even make it out of their side of the bracket in 2018 and lost to a team that never would have made the Big Dance had they not won their conference tournament in 2021.

Syracuse: lost 2 of their last 4 tournament games; couldn't even get past the first round in 2019 and lost to a mid-major team in 2021.

Might as well add UCLA to the list. Lost their last 4 regular season games. Couldn't even win a Pac-12 title or conference tournament. Backed into a Final Four bid in the tournament.

i think we can safely assume the B1G ain't getting 9 bids again anytime soon.

we'd better finish in the top 7 at least if we plan to go dancing in the next 2 years.

still marveling at the sheer size of the egg the conference laid.

Hell-- it'll probably be a year where we finish 4th and they take teams #1, 2, 3, and 5.

bruins giving zags the business. OT after UCLA botches the last few seconds of the game with a chance to win.

phew! this one I didn't see coming. Neither did 'zaga.

Giving Zags 5 more minutes to work with is risky. UCLA's best chance was probably in regulation. We'll see how well this post ages; been impressed with UCLA's run in this entire tournament regardless.
