B1G TOURNEY VS MINN 3-10-21

Jekyll & Hyde game.  Looked real good for stretches and completely lost for other stretches.  Full-strength Minnesota probably would have won for the third time.

Hopefully they can keep it within shouting distance against Maryland, but that won't happen unless they eliminate the sloppy play.

Minn's aggressiveness and uncalled fouls had more to do with the outcome being somewhat close, than anything. They're like the bully on the playground.

If the refs let a team beat up the other team, then all other things being equal, the bully will usually win...and it's on the refs, and we still lose. We just play "softer", less aggressive than some teams.  Minn intentionally beats up on people a bit more than just "B1G physical play".

Any word on Porter? Look like it could be bad.

I don’t like to complain about officiating but they did allow Minnesota to be very physical.  They would knock over our screener and not be called for it.  Again, you have to adjust to how the game is being called.  Players can be hurt though.

Both women's and men's teams are regularly are on the short end of the stick regarding physical play.  If Nebraska tries to turn up the physicality, the whistles start blowing like there's no tomorrow.  Almost every Nebraska sports program has been hosed by officiating since joining this godforsaken conference.
