What a wild year it has been. It's hard to believe we're just over 365 days since Hoiberg gave a major scare to college basketball fans everywhere. Instead of these athletes being able to go back to their dorms and finish up the semester, we were left in a whirlwind of uncertainty where nothing was constant. Many of these athletes didn't have a gym or hoop to train, many were stuck at home during the offseason not even knowing if we'd have a season or not. Many worrying about the safety of their family and friends.
I say that all to remind us of the sacrifices these student athletes have made, to further their playing career and also represent the university. This season didn't get even close to what we would have liked, but if anything this season has taught many of us just to appreciate the game. To appreciate that we were able to find a way to play 96% of our scheduled games.
 
If you're looking on the bright side of things, just be thankful that we weren't an at-large team last season getting snuffed from an NCAA tournament bid. And that we aren't going into the Big Ten tournament title game this season having to forfeit due to testing positive for COVID. So at least there's that.
 
There's a lot of things to be optimistic about going into next season, but it's all going to start with offseason training and the locker room. Time will tell.
 
Without further adieu, here are your final results for this season's Husker Hoops Central Challenge. KenPom rose up quickly in the title chase, but just couldn't quite close the deal. If Nebraska defeated Penn State in the Big Ten tournament, there was a very good chance hhcmatt would have taken the title home. This caused some movement to take place within the Top 5 in the final prediction of the season, but HuskerFever narrowly took the lead when it mattered the most.
