Another benefit of Lakes being eligible is it gets us back to even next year for scholarships without asking someone to leave.  Although,  there will be a very high probability one or more players leave, anyway.

I did just see that.  Which is still good for us, but I assumed his scholarship would not count against our numbers, like all the other sports.  It probably will count since he is a transfer.

You might be right. He is a senior who would otherwise be out of eligibility so that scholarship might not count against the total next year.

 

Odds are that we have at least 2-3 departures anyway, though (and hopefully not 5-6, I think they've proven that the March total roster rebuild does not work).

I don't like the March total roster rebuild thing at all. But there are a couple 3-4 guys that I don't think have high enough ceilings that they will ever be quality role players, let alone program improvers. And we need the slots to find some guys who can improve the talent level on the team. And we need them now, so we can't wait for them to exhaust their eligibility. The problem is do we have any confidence that we'll find better players to replace them with? If not, skip it, I guess.
