Player to watch: SG Desmond Cambridge

The former Brown University star has a lot of ups, posting impressive block numbers for a 6'4" guard.  Able to score from all 3 levels, he was held in check by foul trouble against North Dakota St.

Player to watch: PG Grant Sherfield

The Wichita St transfer is the starting PG for the Pack and led the team in points and shot attempts, needing 14 shots to net 14 points. His

The Rest of the Roster

G Kane Milling has gone from freshman rotation player to starter but hasn't shown a ton offensively.   Oregon St transfer Warren Washington and KJ Hymes provide rim protection for Nevada and the Wolfpack.  Former Nebraska recruit Zane Meeks is Nevada's biggest offensive threat from the post, willing and able to shoot from 3.   Robby Robinson is an elite rebounder who mostly scores on putbacks. True freshman Tre Coleman had an impressive debut, going 3-3 from three and chipping in 13 point in his first college game.

The Skinny:

Nevada started the season with an impressive throttling of North Dakota St, hounding the Bison to 48 points with their length in the post and athleticism.  This team will probably lean on defense this year so you're getting more of a New Mexico than an UCLA Steve Alford squad.  We should see another fast paced game as both teams will try to push the ball to generate transition offense.

The Wolf Pack rolls out a 3 guard offense and they'll do the heavy lifting in the scoring department which should kick the can down the road in terms of how good Nebraska's interior defense is. Defensively you'll see Nevada pack the lane and Nebraska should once again see a lot of wide open looks from 3. As long as Nebraska isn't ice cold and Nevada isn't destroying them on the offensive boards, look for you Cornhuskers to move to 2-0.

Prediction: Nebraska 82 - Nevada 72
