didn't see if this was posted, but it's 14 games officially now.

so we got 2 (or 4?) shaved off of walker's exile.

need that young brother back soonest.

Two. I think the first game he would be available would be @ Maryland on Jan. 16.

Clearly the math on this 50 percent suspension is based on a 27-plus-at-least-one game schedule, so 14 games.

But what if two games are canceled between now and Jan. 16? Should his suspension be reduced to 13 (25 plus 1 divided by 2)?

Advanced math is very tricky. We're still stuck on the question about whether offering $100,000 plus a good job is a punishable act.

Let us run the numbers and get back to you in a few years on this Walker situation.

Sincerely,

NCAA

Walker will help but will not be a savior.

It is tough to shoot in our conference.  Most teams are athletic.  Most teams have length.  Most teams challenge EVERY shot.  Most teams can rebound.  Most teams can defend.  Most teams can shoot and make free throws.  Most teams can control tempo.  Most teams can adjust.  Most teams are built with three star or better recruits.  Most teams are as talented if not more talented than ours.

We need to improve in nearly every facet of our game...but we do seem to be trying to do so.

Most teams when playing Nebraska are allowed to challenge every shot to the point of getting away with kicking out the shooting arm on occasion . And those occasions aren’t that rare.

Doesn't that just bug the ever-living crap out of you? I think it bugs Trey McGowens, who was whistled on a foul that looked pretty clean on one end and then went down and hit a trey (no pun) even while the oompa-loompa-looking Michigan guy (is there such a thing as a tall dwarf?) smacked his elbow on the shot. He didn't argue long (because he made the shot) but you could tell he was pissed it wasn't called after he got whistled on the other end.

Might as well fire up the hype train now. Reading Vols message boards, they liked his athleticism, toughness/motor, defense and passing ability.    In SEC games, he shot 25 of 35 (71%).   He's got a 7 foot wingspan.

“When he buys into his role, he’s good,” Vols coach Rick Barnes said Monday. “He’s a really good defensive player. He does as good a job as anybody on our team (with) ball-screen coverage. He brings a physicality that’s unique, and when he gets the ball in certain areas of the floor, he can score it. And he can pass the ball.

“He’s got a chance to be a really, really terrific player.”

The only time we've seen Walker play happened more than a year ago at the public scrimmage.

My memory is vague on how he played in that game, which suggests he did not stand out.

Anyone have a clear memory of Walker's performance in that scrimmage?

I recall his physicality, but I do not distinctly remember much else.

I hope he can bring an edge defensively, that's one element that has been difficult to see consistently in this squad.
