Here is Jon Rothstein’s report on Jeriah Horne:

Jeriah Horne, Colorado: Tad Boyle needed a replacement up front after he lost Tyler Bey to the NBA and he got that in Horne. The 6-7 forward played a major role in Tulsa’s success last season and averaged 11.1 points while 56 making three-point shots. Horne is expected to be a starter for the Buffaloes in 20-21 as he enters his fifth year of college basketball.

Also talks about:

Thomas Allen, NC State: A dangerous three-point shooter, Allen shot over 36 percent from long distance as a sophomore at Nebraska. He’ll now add that dimension to an underrated NC State perimeter which already features Braxton Beverly, Devon Daniels, and Jericole Hellems.

Gotta think TA would've had fun on this squad playing for these coaches.  He's a good kid to boot.  Wish him well.

Maybe.  But the *only* reason he came to Lincoln in the first place is now one of many head coaches at Indiana, so...

Here's a quick roundup from the Southern Illinois student paper about Prairie View's fortunes:

Prairie View A&M Panthers (19-13 2019-20, 14-4 SWAC, won league championship)

Coach: Byron Smith (75-71 at PVAM, 75-71 overall)

Returning starters: 6-8 F Lenell Henry (4.8 ppg., 4.9 rpg.)

Other key players: 6-2 G Faite Williams (4.9 ppg., 3.1 rpg.); 6-3 G Jock Hughes (transfer from Stephen F. Austin that sat out last season); 6-7 G D'Rell Roberts (11.6 ppg., 2.9 rpg., 2.8 apg. at Kilgore Community College last season); 6-1 G Damari Parris (graduate transfer from Eastern Michigan); 6-6 G Dajour Joseph (transfer from New Mexico State); 6-10 C Chandler Oriahki (transfer from Tyler Junior College).

Notes: The Panthers are largely rebuilding from their SWAC championship squad last season that did not get to compete in the league tournament because of the coronavirus. Prairie View landed Nebraska transfer Cam Mack, a 6-2 point guard that started 25 of 28 games last season, and 6-3 guard Jeremiah Gambrell Jr. from Western Kentucky. If both receive waivers, and the NCAA has been giving them out like candy during this strange year, the Panthers could be pretty tough in Louisville.

I am still totally aghast at the Nebraska basketball recruiter and/or head coach who saw film or saw Dedoch play in person, and thought for one second, that he could play Big Ten basketball for Nebraska.  Seriously!!!

I remember visiting with HB, Norm and others after our first glance, thinking, WTH!!!

Nana Akenten had a good debut for SEMO State. Came off the bench to score 17, including 4 3's, and grab 6 boards. I have to admit that when we signed him I thought we had a good one with his ability to shoot the 3 and his highlight dunks. Of course when watching highlights you don't get to see what the player is lacking like lack of lateral quickness. Hope he does well for his new school.

Haven't seen any mention of this yet but South Dakota State beat Craig Smith's Utah State Aggies like a drum yesterday with Charlie Easley playing 18 minutes and getting 7 points.

SDSU has 3 Nebraskans on their roster that play significant minutes for the Jacks.

Against Utah St. David Wingett (Winnebago) scored 11, Charlie Easley (Pius X) had 7, and Baylor Scheierman (Aurora) led the team with 23 points.

For Utah St. besides Craig Smith, the Aggies have Brandon Ubel as a GA on their coaching staff.
