AuroranHusker Posted April 18, 2020 Report Posted April 18, 2020 Can't say I blame him, Charlie will receive a scholarship to attend SDSU. Will have to catch SDSU vs UNO in Omaha. Thanks for the Husker memories, albeit a difficult season for all involved. mwm89 and Bugeaters1 2 Quote
Huskerpapa Posted April 18, 2020 Report Posted April 18, 2020 Hmm...I am happy for Charlie, but why do I feel like crap that he is leaving. The dude played hard and with heart. Bugeaters1, mwm89 and thrasher31 3 Quote

Cazzie22 Posted April 19, 2020 Report Posted April 19, 2020 Enjoyed watching him play. Hope his shooting touch returns. If it does, the Jackrabbits will have a nice cog in their machine. Quote

AuroranHusker Posted April 21, 2020 Report Posted April 21, 2020 (edited) I loved Charlie Hustle. Nebraska needs a dude like that, even if it's more geared toward toughness-infused practice reps. It's crucial to get some fellas to light a fire. I will be grateful for Easley's grit; he's forever a Husker! Edited April 21, 2020 by AuroranHusker Brick and Red Don 2 Quote
Navin R. Johnson Posted April 21, 2020 Report Posted April 21, 2020 From a selfish standpoint, I would like to see him return as a walk on but he is to good of a player to not have a scholarship. If think you will see fewer and fewer kids walking on in all sports in the future. (at least high quality athletes that could play at a D1 level) I can't believe the football team was able to make the walk on program so successful for as long as they did. Quote
hugh42 Posted April 21, 2020 Report Posted April 21, 2020 If you are a competitor, you want to compete/play, plain and simple. This move will give Charlie a better chance to do just that, plus it will save him a boat load of money. Thanks for your time as a Husker and best of luck! Much depends on his approach to "team". If he willingly accepted his role and busts his ass in practice, then we would have lost an invaluable asset. So I guess so much depends on his character. And everything I know about this kid is that he is a high character and hard working sob. But again, it is a matter of perspective. Quote

I agree, he was a role player and should of have been or going forward probably shouldnt have been more than that. You need guys like that on the team, just not playing that many minutes Quote
