This is a quote from a 2014 basketball recruit I recently interviewed about if he knew anything about Nebraska...

"Honestly, no sir. I mean, I knew they had a good football team for a couple years. That's about it."

I would of been shocked to hear a 16 year old from Florida say he was familiar with Nebrasketball. I'm actually shocked he knew the Football team was good.

Kids now a day's don't see NU as a good football program as it has been like 20 years since we've been relevant on the National Football landscape.  People in this still still live in the 90's glory days but people outside the state aren't still living in the time period.

We weren't relevant when we won a national title 15 years ago?  We weren't relevant when we played in the national title game against Miami 11 years ago?

I think Akoy knew he could go play for a final 4 team with a legendary coach in a basketball state.
