This is an attempt to look at Nebraska women's basketball years in the Big Ten to see what's different now than in the past. As reflected, in the last 4 years except for 2017-18, the opponents  average points have equaled or exceeded the NE offensive average in 3 out of 4 years.  Hard to win that way.  The turnover average has been in the 14 to 16 area in the last 4 years.  More alarming is the level of assists has decreased last year and this year to date.  Offensive rebounding continues to lower than historic levels but defensive rebounding has been on and off and improved thus far this year.  The addition of Maryland and Rutgers in 2014. has not helped the win loss record or likely the stats.  7 in season losses to Maryland and 3  in season losses to Rutgers but 2 wins.  The Big Ten in conference stats are not as kind as they would be if all games played in a season were included.  My main intent was trying to find something more on why in particular for 2019-20 the NE Big Ten Record is not very good.   The current shooting percentage to date for this year in the Big Ten of .406 does not help either with the missed layups and on and off 3 point shooting success.

Excepting Shepard's scoring average in 2016-2017,   for the William's years all top 3 scorers averages are mostly lower than in the Yori years.    This more highly exhibited by the right hand column showing the Yori years mostly in the 40's for the aggregate of the top 3 scorers versus in the 30's for the Williams years.   Likely the lack of dominant scorers is a negative at end of quarter or game end situations.   It is also noted that minutes played by the top scorers is generally less in the Williams era.  High minutes played by Theriot back in the day may have been a factor with her injuries.  So year to date in the Big Ten, Brown as the leading scorer is only playing 27.1 minutes a game on average and Haiby as the 3rd leading scorer is only playing 26.5 minutes a game.
