This is one of those years where Creighton has everything to lose and we have everything to gain. If we lose - so what, 1st year coach, entire roster turnover, projected last in our conference, rebuild in every sense of the word. Creighton has a veteran staff, NCAA aspirations on the line, hell they even lost to us last year. A win for us and you have a serious ego check, take a chunk out of their superiority complex and we have a little thing called a winning streak against them. Hopefully they play tighter than a bull's ass in fly season.

This is an old discussion, but I feel compelled to circle around to it again. Sip & Jake spent 1 hour & 50 minutes Wednesday STILL talking about the football team which has just finished it’s 3rd straight losing season. Then they weighed in for 10 minutes about the Basketball team which actually PLAYED a game yesterday. Since Creighton is down this year (relatively speaking) & the Huskers have all the buzz of a hot dish contest, you can see why this week might feel a little stale...

5-7 is probably a better winning percentage than the basketball team will end up with ☹️

Will I regret buying tickets for tomorrow's game?  We'll see, at least we'll get to eat lunch and dinner in Omaha (and have a beer at the game!).  Is it a rivalry?  Yes.  My wife and I were at the last time we won in Omaha at the NIT game where Nate Johnson hit the game winner.  That was amazing I remember a Creighton fan was almost in tears on the way out of the Qwest Center.  I laughed.

It was mentioned a little bit upthread but it is truly a no-lose situation for us in this game.  We're supposed to get trucked in this game and I'd be shocked if we keep the margin within 20 points.

Creighton needs to win this game, and win big, to position themselves for a possible NIT bid this year and anything other than a total blowout of the Huskers in this one will be considered a complete letdown.

For us?  Meh, who cares really.  This is just another opportunity to get more game experience under the belt for these guys still learning Hoiberg's system.  And if their shooting comes together, who knows?

But for me, I'm not bothered at all.  Not gonna be all season no matter what.  GBR!

I agree with what they said on 1620 yesterday, Creighton is more in win and survive mode with their depleted depth. They're down to basically 6 scholarship players. I doubt many of those fans are concerned about win margin.

I mean we should probably get used to this feeling. This is basically how I see the B1G season going. Not saying I have/we should write off the season but I know I'm not going to get too worked up over it. Just sit back and enjoy the journey knowing that (in theory) better times are coming. Season of no stress for this guy.

Oh, I've resigned myself to this reality long ago.  This is going to resemble Miles' first year and a half.  Road losses at Michigan and Ohio State by 30 will very much be a thing.

Splits with Ty-Shon Alexander on and off the court. Numbers indicate what anyone who watches Creighton would know: he's their most important player

What about the coach that spent the entire last year eating cat poop sandwiches?

Any reference to Nate Johnson makes me smile, he had a tryout with the Los Angeles Lakers & was straight up baller in Red...! I’ll be at the CHI tomorrow & who knows, maybe we’ll get hot from 3 & send the Catholics home with a frowny ☹️ face again.
