NU last played WSU in an in-season tournament in 1998 in Alaska, winning, 95-84. Bonus points if you can remember who led NU in scoring that day. Double bonus points if you can name the 4 players who had double figure scoring in the game.

Got to admit to being disappointed when I first saw the field for this one. Yeesh. But now I'm excited to play some mediocre teams, good chance to take a step forward.

The Cayman Islands tourney sets up pretty well this season, as it turned out. And both Derrick Walker & Dalano Banton can tag along to practice & see some sights, as well. Pretty good deal for the team chemistry, all around.

Leading scorers vs WSU way back when:

  • Hamilton 26
  • Belcher 18
  • T Piatkowski 17
  • Chad Johnson 13

No way I would've gotten more than 2 out of 4 without looking it up.

By the way, WSU plays UNO tomorrow night, I think it's on the Pac-12 Network at 6, if you want to have a local reason to check out the Cougs.

So, it looks as though I went two-for-two in scoring order. Bingo.

Here's what Wazzu's coach said afterward:

“I think we lost focus,” Washington State coach Kyle Smith said. “They have good guards and they were relentless about attacking, and we were terrible all night about defensive transitions.”

Wherever he is, Cam Mack just smiled.

Cam, Green, Cheatham, all of Nebraska.

Anyone getting the stream for this?  Im thinking about buying it but its $30. Does anyone know if you can have multiple logins to the app? Would easily give someone my login info for half the cost.

might be interested... looked high and low and it doesn't seem like any other channels are running the tournament, its all dark on info. Maybe flohoops got the exclusive rights. Anyway, If theres no free trial I might be interested. Just need it for this week you know

I havent looked yet if multiple logins can work.  I'll have to check on that.  Just looking to save a little money for only 3 games.

It does seem like a strange omission by the tournament organizers.  You go to all the trouble to create (and publicize) an event then don't (or can't) make reasonable video arrangements.     The same goes for the upcoming South Point Shootout for WBB!

yeah I really hate when they do this. its such an oversight to assume that a fanatical fanbase will not, by default, want to watch the games! especially with how much the uni has been hawking this experience for the players and fans. who doesn't want to watch tropical basketball? paradise anyone? #WhydoyouthinkwelikeMaui

FYI did some research on Flohoops and they have an awful reputation. Hard to cancel, terrible stream quality. Looks like I’ll be settling in with @Kent Pavelka and @Busch Light (the beer, not the poster) the next couple days.

TYVM! you may have just saved us all. Now...where's this shindig? Need me some way to see these games. Might have to resort to settling in with a beer and gametracker lol
