Norm Peterson
First, the allegation that he sent revenge porn to his ex-GF. Don't have a clue what could happen with that. Now weed? Is he worth the trouble and the reputation hit? At what point do you say, Mo, this ain't workin' and we're going a different direction. At what point is the value a kid brings to the program on the field offset by the problems he creates off the field?
hskr4life
I think that the age old question is "how many strikes do they get?" Now the first allegation and the second are two completely different scenarios. However, they are both strikes and both black eyes to the program. We are still dealing with the Randy Gregory situation to this day. He has been gone how long? Weed is something that isn't just a one time deal most of the time. To have it in the dorm, to be smoking it in the dorm is just not smart. Period. Wouldn't be surprised to see us part ways.

However, don't forget the T.O. influence on Frost. Just like L.P., what happens to Washington w/o football? I know Frost wasn't really close to Phillips, so to speak, but there is always a chance at redemption. My odds are 60-40 he's gone.

I think that friendship was at arms length. Also this is kind of showing me that this kid is very immature and does not make good decisions right now. I mean if I am in fairly deep with possible Federal time, I would THINK that I would be a choir boy and not be smoking in my dorm room. Huskerpapa
Who were the other two or three people in the room that were not charged? The decision (punishment) lies with the University, the athletic department, and the head of the football program...perhaps in that order. Natalie Romeo was sited for a Blunt, She severed a two game suspension I think. And as I know hasn't been in trouble since.

Huskerpapa
Right, wrong or indifferent; the use of marijuana within the college age bracket (and likely the entire population) is increasing. Why would anyone be surprised that the we are seeing it on our campus with athletes or any other college student. In 2017, 38 percent of full-time college students aged 19-22 reported using marijuana at least once in the prior 12 months, and 21 percent reported using at least once in the prior 30 days. Both of these prevalence levels peaked in 2016, the highest found since 1987, and did not change significantly in 2017. The 2017 prevalence levels represent gradual increases since 2006 when they were 30 percent and 17 percent, respectively. https://news.umich.edu/marijuana-use-among-us-college-students-remains-at-highest-level-in-three-decades/
AuroranHusker
Maurice Washington's case in Stockton, CA, has been delayed until October 17th (from earlier today). Not likely to be resolved before the year 2019 comes to a close.
