Your list is good except for one thing, Ntambwe the forward. He has to sit a year so I wouldn't take him. I repeat don't take a forward or center if they have to sit a year. we need help their immediately, no exceptions!!

UNLV lost their coach so the chances are pretty good Ntambwe will be eligible

If he wants to come here, you take him 100 times out of 100.

Good list. I'd take the French guy over Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua.

I dont know much about him tbh. I went with JTT more bc it sounds like they want 2-3 guys sitting out every year and he fits that criteria.

I put Jayce Johnson fairly high (even though hes averages 7pts, 7reb, and 20min) bc im really hoping we can convince Roby to stay by selling the idea of being able to develop his NBA skill set as a 4. Johnson and a year older Heiman could hopefully cover a majority of the minutes at the 5.

As Cheatham is 'N' - how 'bout Cam Mack, Jayce Johnson, and the Oui Oui fellow. Freddy & Co. will get some dudes, no matter who they may be. I have faith in their chops on the recruiting trail.

I also wouldn't mind another grad transfer big guy, depending on what Roby does in the next 5 weeks.

It will be interesting to see how this staff prioritizes the available recruits.

According to the Omaha World Herald this morning, (i) Hoiberg plays “positionless” ball, and (ii) the player at the 5 position on his best team at Iowa St. stood 6’7”.

I heard 3 grad transfers, 3 regular sit-a-year transfers, and it looks like maybe a high school kid or two.

Here's the approximate minutes by position for the Iowa State sweet sixteen team.  (Approximate because it's hard to determine whether Ejim or Hogue was the 3/4 or the 4/5, for example.)  The question remains, would it work in the Big Ten?

DeAndre Kane SR G 6-4 200     3.4 18.4 12.6      17.1 Pts, 6.8 Reb, 5.9 Ast

Only two on that roster are shorter than 6’4” (1.1 minutes and 2.7 points for one, 28.1 minutes and 6.8 points for the other), and only one is taller than 6’8” (2 minutes, 1.2 points and 1.4 rebounds for him).

I have no idea what type defense we intend to run. I would assume zone to hide the lack of height? Any thoughts?

Doc has traditionally run a pack style defense that really limits your lane but gives up 3pt looks.

The numbers didn't necessarily reflect that sort of extremes the year he was at Iowa St.

Most of the defenses under Fred looked like they played fairly passively: Not trying to pressure and attempting to stay home so in an attempt to make you take a poor shot.  Most of the defenses defended without fouling.

I'm not sure if it will be zone but I suspect it will function a lot like a zone.

If more open up:

4. Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua

5. Kevin Cross

6. Maurice Calloo

Updated list for me.

I think we get Cam Mack and Jayce Johnson. And the additional scholarship plus whatever other attrition occurs is used on sit out transfers.
