Surprisingly article about Hoiberg’s health history.

I am thrilled beyond imagination with Fred Hoiberg becoming the Husker basketball coach. I scoured the web for articles about his playing and coaching history.

 

You can imagine my alarm when I read that his NBA career was ended by open heart surgery in 2014. He had a heart valve replaced and all is well now as the problem while very serious was simply a defective valve and was not stress related or life style related. 

 

I’m one happy camper. Let the journey begin!

 I remember this event.  If I recall correctly, it was the reason he stopped wearing ties.  Perhaps I am mis-remembering.

Man, I thought this was an early April Fools' Day prank. Glad Freddy is on the mend.

 

My own father-in-law had a quadruple bypass over a decade ago, doing better than ever !
