So, when do they close in the north end of PBA?

I’m just interested in the new court. New coach new court!

I know you didn't like the guy, but we had a similar instance in 2012. New coach, new energy, new arena, new HHC (revamped to, say, 3.0).

As exciting as it was to see us put some investment and attention back on Nebraska basketball in 2012, it's been elevated even more today. I'll remember all the coaching transitions fondly, but I'm excited for what's ahead with this reinstalled energy among diehards all the way to the casual/bipartisan Nebrasketball bandwagoners.

Would adding those extra seats mean the NCAA Tournament could be held in Lincoln?

Not even close. Need Hotels with lots of meeting rooms in addition to more rooms than all the hotels we have in Lincoln combined.  has to have at least one 1000 room hotel in it...and I think with all the boutique hotels Lincoln might just be over that number.  HOWEVER (I help put on conventions) I know that there is not even close to enough meeting spaces to meet their requirements.

And an airport that is bigger than a "turn left for Delta's gate and turn right for United's gate."

That all depends on Hotels with restaurants or some silliness like that.?

Yeah I knew there was a hotel issue but I thought with all the new ones up that wouldn't be an issue before.

Never would have thought about the convention space. Thanks. But wasn't there just an article about them looking to build one?

yeah they dropped the ball big time on the convention space...they should have grabbed the Post office land and built it there.  Right the Cornhusker and the Embassy Suites have the biggest meeting spaces.  Some of the hotel..have very little rooms to meet in or no rooms at all.  What helps Omaha out a lot are the casinos over in Iowa.  I think there's also some good sized hotels in downtown Omaha as well.

I thought there was something in place that stated PBA couldn't have a higher capacity than CHI center? That's been a long time ago though so that might have changed.

It could technically still be the case, but those numbers in OMA are fudged fairly regularly. LIN could pick OMA's highest "most-aggressive" total for the attendance, and build around that figure to technically solve the state-tax-structure-basis issue....

it's dumb they wouldn't have just added the seats in the first place. i'd rather have too many seats than not enough.

Some truth to this, yet I personally disagree.  There is something unique/awesome about playing in front of a full house.  Especially when that full house is pumped up.

I think if we can build that ravenous fan base and know that we have fans  that aren't simply band wagon riders, we can expand.  But that will be a mutual decision between UNL and the City.

Until we can not only sell out the arena but actually have the seats fully occupied for all B1G games and at least all mid majors and up, we don't need to ruin the atmosphere by putting in a couple thousand more of the least occupied seats.

Leave it as it is unless we can consistently sell and occupy the current 300 level seats for perhaps 3 to 5 years.

If we do that, it means we have had success. Perhaps then and it will be time to expand.

Before that time, we should strive to make Husker PBA games a very tough ticket.
