Will Roby be back next year?

I’d be shocked if he’s back.   I hope I’m wrong

Georges Niang averaged over 20 as a senior in essentially Hoiberg's offense (the first year after Hoiberg left, but they kept things pretty similar).  Roby has a lot more natural ability than Niang, and he could really put up some numbers offensively if he's mentally tuned in all year.  Maybe, possibly, hopefully, he could dramatically improve his professional options by coming back.  That doesn't mean he will, of course.  Good luck to him either way.

Just to clarify if this hasn't been said a bunch before the new rules mean you can declare for the draft and then come back if you are not drafted.

Assuming he doesn't get an agent and he doesn't get drafted does he come back, grad transfer, or go pro?

Interesting speculation.  Pointed question, has anyone spoken to Isaiah or a member of his immediate family?  Has anyone heard directly from the "horses mouth?"

He didn't comment on it after the Wisconsin loss when approached about it.

I still think it's up in the air personally. Could see it going either way.

He’s fighting age at this point. If he came back and was like a 20ppg, 10rpg, 2bpg kinda guy then yea, it would be worth it. If his numbers were just slight improvements, then that extra year did no good. The NBA is in love with youth and potential.

Is he fighting age? He still comes off as a project at this point doesn't he?

2019 Mock- 3 seniors in first round (19th, 24th, 29th)

2018 draft- 2 (21st, 22nd)

2017 draft- 2 (29th, 30th)

2016 draft- 5 (6th, 12th, 14th, 20th, 25th)

2015 draft- 4 (9th, 20th, 21st, 27th)

2014 draft- 5 (11th,  15th,  24th, 28th, 29th)

A current slight down-tick in 1st round seniors as the years have gone. He is probably still a "project", but seems to be viewed as a late 1st round pick. Does staying another year help push him into the teens or higher? Perhaps, but that means senior years like Buddy Hield (25 ppg, 6 rpg), Taurean Prince (16 ppg, 6 rpg),  Denzel Valentine (19 ppg, 8 rpg, 8 apg),  and Frank Kaminsky (19 ppg, 8 rpg). He probably has better measurables than all those guys, but unless he comes back and averages something like 18/8 with a couple assists and blocks a game it might not be worth it

Isn't Roby young for his grade? Many Seniors are 23 plus. I think Roby is younger than that, thus could still be viewed for his potential even if he stayed another year in college.

I think he's about the same age as Donovan Williams. Perhaps a bit younger. Just from looking at them. I might not be the best judge of age.
