defensively, we just quit playing in the second half. that's that energy, focus and desire thing again. 

 

this team just doesn't have it, and it's pretty much like expecting a unicorn to materialize at this point. 

 

they are who they are: a leaderless group of good guys who get lost really easily.

Throughout this message board has been lots of finger-pointing this year especially with this recent skid.

 

After watching nearly every game this year I really have to wonder what has happened?

 

Was the 10 - 1 start Fool's Gold?  Does the national coach of the year four years ago forget how to coach?  

 

Everybody's first response is, fire the coach.  How many missed free throws did Miles have early in the season that cost is close games?  How many rebounds were gotten over Coach Miles that lead to easy putbacks the cost us games?  How many of the Mysteries against the Iowa or because coach Miles is a poor shooter?  

 

I guess my point here is, is this a case where the Husker faithful thought this team was better than they are?

We gave up 48 f**king points in the second half. 

 

Someone needs to just pull the plug on this fiasco. I can see why Sipple is entertaining the idea of letting an assistant finish the season out loud. I still don't want that, personally, but I can understand why someone reaches that conclusion. Might as well audition the staff to see if you have some closet Dr Phil-Except-Actually-Competent figure on there somewhere.

that was exactly the same discussion from the tourney team the second year. And this is almost the same follow up kind of season. That can't be a coincidence. Or can it? 

 

Ultimately it doesn't matter. It's over and it'll be a mercy when it is. 

 

Personally, I think Tim needs to finally break down and get a bench gig to a major league coach and pick up some new tools for his coaching box. He's still young enough to get better. But I don't think he can do it on his own any more.

They had a majority of a decent team coming back this year, in year 7 of Miles tenure. It was put up or shut up time and we shut up.
