Worthless opinions for us to this point....

We've fell on some tough times occasionally. Inconsistent a lot.  Maybe we can shake off some of the demons Sunday.

It would be great of course, to play like we did against them last time. Everyone was on their game, offensively, and defensively. We all said...best game of the year. Team chemistry was really positive and we were at at our best..

All year.....Needed a consistent scorer for 15+ or so all year, but we've been inconsistent this year. Need one or two, to show up on the score board for 15+ every game.    A "closer" ..where have you been? A few times yes, and we usually won. But not very reliably. game in and game out.

We've been better in many areas...turnovers are more in control...we're getting blocks and more steals....the newbies are obviously better than expected doing great in most phases of the game. Look like freshman sometime as would be expected, ( they'll be great next year).

Our defense is decent against some teams. Other teams eat our lunch too many times. Is our inconsistency due to all the newbies, and likewise so few seniors to lead?  Nicea is our defensive leader,  without her it could really be ugly... a lot.

Offense could be more fluid...kind of slow to develop playing half court play. And predictable too much..... Is the subbing and all he new blood part of the reason??  Simple give and goes have worked, but don't use much.

Left out discussions about some of the team concepts for schemes on purpose...another subject.

Make no claim  to know the answers.  Just observations. Am I full of it ?

Not really.  I'm seeing pretty much what you've stated here.  Always good to get all the perspectives this board provides.  :)

Thought we scored in the paint pretty well (Verbeek 14 pts.) in the first game.  Set good screens and got looks to go down also.  Let's see if we can do those things again.  I'm sure Purdue has come up with something to try and prevent that this time around.  Can we adjust?

The Nebraska women’s basketball team will shoot for a season sweep of Purdue while supporting cancer awareness with Play4Kay Day and recognizing former Huskers on Alumni Weekend Sunday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
• Fans are encouraged to wear pink to Sunday’s game with the Boilermakers, and the Huskers will be sporting pink accessories to their white uniforms.
• Nearly 40 former Husker players will be recognized on the court at halftime.

• The Huskers ran to an 84-64 win at Purdue on Jan. 31, with junior Hannah Whitish erupting for a season-high 28 points while adding a career-high 12 assists for her first career double-double against the Boilermakers. Whitish averaging 15 points and 5.3 assists over her last seven contests.
• Although Nebraska is 10-13 overall and 5-7 in the Big Ten, the Huskers have fought hard down to the wire, with a school-record-tying 11 games decided by two possessions or less.
• Freshmen continue to play major roles for the Huskers. Sam Haiby, Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week, scored 13 points against the Boilermakers. Ashtyn Veerbeek (7.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg) pitched in 14 points and nine rebounds, while Indiana native Leigha Brown (9.3 ppg, 2.5 rpg) added seven points and three boards.

Scouting The Purdue Boilermakers

• The Boilermakers own a 16-9 overall record including a 7-5 Big Ten mark.
• In conference play, Purdue is 5-1 at Mackey Arena with its lone loss coming in an 84-64 setback to Nebraska on Jan. 31. The Boilermakers are just 2-4 on the road in the league.

Half Time Stats: Huskers playing Defending well, but missing some points in the paint. The difference in the game so far seems to be the Assists (7-3 Purdue). They are getting more points off assists, our points in the paint are mostly finishing drives.

Purdue has been in the lead most of the game (as much as 7-8 pts), but we seem to keep coming back - GRIT, NO QUIT LADY HUSKERS! :Catfight:

Shouldn't have been a hair puller...but it's a win.... We'll take it any way it comes.

Magic freshman...Leigh Brown.  She had the touch.   Something tells me it won't be the last time she does it.

Even with the crappy shooting...the kids didn't quit...they fought through it.  Lots of grit and toughness.
